5. Gnarly
It's interesting that you used this word. I read a book review by Carolyn See (Washington Post) who said no one uses the word gnarly. Well, obviously she's wrong.

I think it's a great word to describe a worried-looking Shrub.

8. See was writing a book review of "Do You Speak American?"
by Robert MacNeil and William Cran.

See says the authors "write of 'gnarly' as though the word were still in common use...."

The San Jose Mercury News picked up this Washington Post book review on Feb. 6, 2005. I just got around to reading the book reviews last night.

Actually, I've never particularly liked See's book reviews. And I like the word and thinks it suits the picture.

10. I LOVE the word GNARLY. I use it alot...
maybe it's a geographical word...I'm from Southern California originally and now that I've moved to another state, there are many words that were commonplace there that no one uses here.

For what it's worth....my .02
