Marching under signs that read AMERICANS AGAINST BUSH'S WARS
would be alot more effective, in my opinion, than those promoting political groups or affiliations.

It seems that the greater message is lost when the group banners are more dominant.

I noticed that the European protests have way more message signs front and center that are unobscured by the larger group banners.

Food for thought for those marching next weekend.

4. Check Out Posters on DistressedAmerican site
DistressedAmerican has lots of posters of his original anti-war artwork available. I'm ordering a bunch to take to NYC!

(Look under product lines, posters)

5. I've seen those. Good to rely on message signs over group recognition.
Wish you well on your trip.

7. Wish I could.
Mr. blm works in a newsroom and political activity is not allowed at the risk of being fired.

The political activities I do have to be anonymous, so that leaves out any physical participation.

9. Odd -- I've never seen anyone taking "attendence" at anti-war marches. N/T

10. No, but news organizations send photographers.

I find it odd that any regular poster here would be unaware at this point of what political activities I can participate in and which public ones I cannot. Most everyone knows me by now.

15. But here you are; Is this not a "political activity"?
Aren't you afraid someone will "out" you? It seems a lot more likely
than if you were just standing in the midst of a crowd of 100,000.

(By the way: Nice attempt at a gratuitous slam. Try harder next time.)

16. What's your problem with what I posted?
Edited on Tue Mar-15-05 02:13 PM by blm
Surely you know the difference between an anonymous forum board and having one's face and body physically exposed publically.

So, why challenge me as if I'm a freeper? That's the biggest part of your post I don't get, especially since you have been posting here for over a year. Why is it a slam to expect someone who's been here a long time to know more about me politically?

I feel I know hundreds of folks here politically, without knowing them personally.

18. It is a well known fact that marches are monitored.
Even events are monitored. I have a friend who is a news anchor who wasn't allowed to see Kerry at a Rally because of what might be percieved as bias. She was told that if she went, they would fire her. And this was one of the "liberal" affiliates!

12. Thats odd. When I protested the rodent in NYC
CNN had set up the TIC TOC Diner as the "Official CNN Diner". They even took down the Neon Tic Toc sign.

It is attached to the New Yorker Hotel, and I stayed there several days. There were plenty of people streaming in and out of the diner and to the republi-turd paraphernalia stand just outside the lobby entrance. There were a hell of a lot of people wearing Bush stuff walking into the "CNN employees only Diner" In fact they had guards posted to keep all non-employees out.

Later in the bar across the lobby from the diner entrance, there were CNN employees (wearing ID badges) arguing loudly with a couple Kerry supporters who wandered in from the street. I thought it was going to break into a fist fight.

Evidently, you do not work for CNN.

13. Nope. CNN doesn't even care anymore if people know its rightwing bias.
Some real news organizations are more strict.

17. It is probably a good thing that they are.
We need more news organizations like that, and more employees like you. Probably a good idea to let this thread die. I would truly hate to see an evil republicrap pick up on your vulnerability.

11. I would love to see it called the "BUSH FAMILY WAR"
As I really believe that it is. The only reason we are in Iraq, and Afganistan today are because the Bush family had unfinished business there.

It is genuinely wrong to call the Iraq war an "American" war. It is NOT. It is a Bush Family War plain and simple.
