Where does the $ from those "Support the Troops" magnets go?
My sister and I were wondering the other day. Does it help the troops buy armor for their unarmored vehicles? Just curious.

2. As with the 9/11 'collectibles', these magnets are for profit only.
Oh "a portion of" goes to something good. And they never tell you the percentage. Try "0.000000000000000000000000002%" as the figure in question and chances are, it'd still be more than what they would give.

6. Excellent question. Who is basically getting rich from this: I mean
some people criticize you for not having one. (At least in my area.)

8. Someone should start making Support Our Troops magnets, ribbons, and
stickers, and selling them - and giving all the money to ACTUALLY support the troops.

11. Welcome to DU.
Many of our so-called troop supporters are just all talk. Or as they say in Texas, all hat, no cattle.

was having a fundraiser, he is in the Army. (His unit is being deployed):scared:

That is how I got mine, the monies went to the units at the base he is stationed at...

The ones that they sell at Walmart, just profit the Walton's empire.

Peace,
Whitedove

12. Welcome to DU, whitedove.
My mom couldn't believe it when I told her that the magnets at 7/11, Walmart, and the flea market aren't being sold to actually support the troops, but are just an example of capitalism.

May God watch over your son-in-law.

10. I always think its so ironic that those who have the ribbons are
the least likely to care about the well being of the troops (* supporters). What if there was a magnet that said "Protect the troops" and the money went for armor for their vehicles? That would make so much more sense. As of now those magnets just function as propaganda.

13. The Walton Family gets most of it..............
some company in China, the rest.

Saying the "Walton Family" is akin to saying, "The Manson Family" as far as I'm concerned.

If that money doesn't support the troops, it is at least supporting former troops.
