So many of these big farms are run by people who want nothing more than to get even bigger. Why? Because they will qualify for even more gov't welfare.
and I have watched the big farmers knock the small family farms out of the race for years. From the sound of the article this one issue is something that both parties can agree on. However, it is the other issues that bushie will place in the bill that worry me. Democrats should be sure to read the fine print before they sign on the dotted line.
5. Some of the family farmers have formed an old fashioned co-op and set up
in downtown Little Rock. The veggies are very fresh and some of them have told me that the few times they can come into town really makes a difference to their survival. I have to be proud of their determination to stick with the life they want and not give in to the corporate giants. One man told me that Con-Agra has been after his farm for years but he won't sell.
