"The wind is strong and can be messy, just like Freedom"
I went to the store this afternoon, and this lady was standing at the entrance.

It was very windy, but it was also nice and warm (in the upper 70's).

I gave her a pleasant "Good afternoon" and remarked about how windy it was.

Her response?

"The wind is strong and can be messy, just like Freedom"

Now WHERE did that stupid shit come from?

I think she was making a dig at my Democratic Underground bumpersticker on my truck.

The Moran!!!

2. Ask the next one to define "freedom" ok?
Edited on Sat Mar-12-05 10:45 PM by Skip Intro
I cannot imagine what you'd get back, because none of them have thought past that "control" word - they hear it, and they stop thinking.

There won't be an answer. Freedom means voting is the best you'll get, and I doubt you'd get that.

I'd really love to hear some w-faithful have to explain the shit bush says. And see what happens when they have to explain what they're so much more sure of than us stupid Democrats.

What is Freedom?

It'd be like popping a balloon.

13. I really want to - talk to one of these people
My sis is kindof like that, but she's not a practicing fundie.

And I get emails now and then from a fundie bushbot who claims I always rain on her parade (when I rebut, reply all, to her silly bushloving emails).

But to meet one. I wouldn't have been able to walk away from that lady. I think I would have stood there in the wind and - engaged her, for a few minutes, anyway.

Freedom means thinking for yourself, mam. What do you think freedom is, mam?

But I'd try not to hurt her feelings, being the compassionate Dem that I am. Damnit.

14. Replies I would have loved to make:
"Have I stumbled into a really bad martial arts film?"

"Did someone forget their meds this morning?"

I never think of saying anything at those times though...people like that always leave me speechless! :silly:
