Well, we know why Brian Williams was chosen........
as the replacement for Tom Brokaw. There is a concerted effort to replace all news people with partisan hacks. Here is a comment he made on the Nightly News courtesy of Bartcop.

Quotes

"Lately even Bush's harshest critics have been forced to admit: Maybe he's right about
freedom's march around the globe. What if we are watching an example of presidential
leadership that will be taught in America's schools for generations to come? It's an idea
gaining more currency."
--Brian Williams, anchor of NBC Nightly News and total BFEE whore Attribution

1. Coordinated media manipulation in progress
Edited on Sat Mar-12-05 02:36 AM by Newsjock
With all this meme-spreading going on across radio, TV, and newspapers in just the past few days, using almost identical language every time, you just know it's happening because of a very coordinated effort from deep inside the White House and/or GOP.

What's different is that, this time around, the manipulation scheme hasn't been revealed or discovered -- yet. They told us they'd try to fool us on Social Security, but this campaign has started in earnest with no declaration on their part.

I can't stress it enough -- we're in danger of getting Swift Boated on this, unless we act now, forcefully, and decisively to set the record straight. Sitting back and thinking "Oh, people aren't so stupid to buy this crap" won't work. We're facing the most skillful, coordinated, wholesale manipulation of media in the history of the entire world. In order to expose and defeat it, our efforts must be every bit as large.

5. Yeah, it feels kind of like the run-up to the Iraq war again...
There's this very broad (and fairly obvious) effort in the corporate media to convince everybody that freedom is taking hold in the Middle East. I just can't understand why they're doing this. Are they setting up some sort of half-assed exit framework for Iraq ("We're all done! Success! You saw it on NBC News and it's all set there in Iraq.") so that we can focus on blowing up Iran or Syria?

This is making me very concerned.

2. Hitler was another liar who showed leadership. Brian kissing Bush's
ass is no surprise to me. Just another corporate shill.

10. They were trying to make Jon Stewart seem like he approves of Bush
Edited on Sat Mar-12-05 04:16 AM by Melodybe
The middle east was long past due for a little women's lib and democracy, Bush's war gave muslims a chance to show their displeasure with their religious and auristocratic rulers.

They are misrepresenting what Jon Stewart says and trying to confuse people, fucking typical of the CMC, I might add.

I HATE BRIAN WILLIAMS!!! He is GE slime folks, GE makes ten times the money off their contracts with the government than they do with their tv networks. Never forget that WAR IS GOOD for GE.

Williams is everything that I hate about the corporate media cartel, turn it off, they are useless. Jon was right they are purposely hurting America.

Case in point, zero coverage of the New Freedom Commission and the Bankruptcy bill and their real implications.

Turn that shit off, start trusting the foreign news and TDS.

Also start keeping up with columnists like Paul Krugman and Greg Palast, if you don't already.

I hope that Brian Williams gets VD!

Ans I hope it itches badly.

4. Yeah, I saw that "newscast..."
It was like watching a propaganda film. I guess blowing up Iraq and then staging some sort of half-assed "election" there suddenly made the Middle East into a bastion of "freedom" overnight. Is anybody buying this shit besides Jon Stewart and Bill Maher?

What a fool. Williams has clearly been paid. Any realistic person could see that's not the case. I guess Williams missed the little memo from Lebanon that someone had on a poster that said: "America is the source of terrorisim." :eyes:
