.... its not surprising he didn't go for some kind of touching tribute.

Dunno which book one of them is in - FEAR AND LOATHING IN AMERICA, maybe? Great, vicious stuff. HST didn't much care for being a cartoon character.

5. That's interesting.
I am as big a fan of Trudeau as I am of HST, and Duke is perhaps the most loving and enduring version of any public figure in any comic I can imagine.

But I'm not the least bit surprised that Hunter would still loathe the whole idea. I doubt Garry was surprised either.

Still, I consider a full week of strips a major tribute, and the drug stuff is a call-back to the Duke of the seventies, when all his adventures involved high dosage of something or another.

I remember a strip where he wouldn't even start his lecture until his meds kicked in. Once the audience looked like winged lizards he was ready to speak.
