On the Record: If I ever become Brain Dead, my wife better pull the plug!
OK... Everybody read that? If she needs you to testify that these are my wishes, you'll do it won't ya?

I'm just covering my bases.

Oh..and as far as the inevitable jokes about me being Brain Dead...Ha Ha!

3. Do a Living Will...
....outlining your express wishes as to what you want to happen and under what conditions. You can get the forms to draw it up yourslf at most any office supply or stationery store. Take it to a Notary and have your wife sign it, as well as well as signing it yourself and have it notarized. Give a copy to your wife, your attorney, if you have one, and anyone else who might need to know what your wishes are in the event of an emergency and keep a copy for yourself with your other important papers.

It's too easy to make these wishes clearly known not to. Without such a document, decisions could be made that might very well be exactly what you didn't want and it'll be no one's fault but your own.

4. A friend of mine has asked me
if he can put me into his living will as the designated plug puller, since he doesn't trust his wife. I haven't decided yet what to tell him.

5. Pulling a plug is one thing...
What about being starved to death?

8. It would be same as pulling the plug if I was incapacitated
There is no sensation of pain, hunger, etc. -- the brain is dead (void of activity... unable to process events and happenings)

10. Exactly. Hospitals don't want to keep you alive once your
insurance runs out. I am not concerned about my relatives not pulling the plug-I am way more concerned about the hospital pulling the plug just cause they don't want to pay for it.
