2 US soldiers killed, 10 Wounded today

FALLUJAH, Iraq, Sept. 12 — Two U.S. soldiers were killed and seven wounded during a raid early Friday in Iraq, the military reported. The deaths came on one of the bloodiest nights of fighting since the end of major conflict on May 1. Elsewhere, at least eight Iraqi police reportedly were killed by U.S. soldiers while chasing suspected thieves. And three American soldiers reportedly were wounded in a new roadside bombing. All the incidents were concentrated around the tense Iraqi city of Fallujah, a stronghold of Saddam Hussein supporters, located west of Baghdad.
