So let me get this straight. The wife of a Presidential candidate
says the election was stolen and it's not news. We are supposed to believe that a Toyota was going a hundred miles an hour on the "most dangerous road in Iraq" at night, in the rain, and is shot up, killing a passenger and yet does not crash.

Can somebody explain? If the wife of the losing Presidential candidate in Botswana said the election was stolen it would be all over the U.S. news. The military's version of the behavior of the Italians would be like paying a million dollars for a vase and then walking home with it balanced on your head.

Is there not one soul in the media with the courage to say the word bullshit?

1. There's the small matter of proof, unfortunately.

4. You mean the stuff they find in investigations?
Haven't you heard? Only Bush-sanctioned investigations are permitted in Single Party Amerika.

6. I don't think proof is an element of whether something is news.
Are the Italians supposed to "prove" they weren't going one hundred miles an hour in the rain in the dark in a Toyota?

7. It's more a matter of a media that has been bought and paid for
With the "media" as it is, finding someone who has the courage to actually look for the proof is where the real problem lies.

Most of the media will not question what the military says, for fear of being called anti-soldier or losing their job, just ask the guy who recently resigned from CNN.

9. It's been on the news
but only to make fun of her. She was asked in Seattle if she had any evidence or proof and she said no, maybe that's why.

3. And yet, every smear, allegation, and "some say" speculation...
... directed at a Dem is picked up, amplified, analyzed, scrutinized and LEGITIMIZED by what passes for our news media on a daily basis.

8. The election was stolen through "fixing" emotion in the voters too.
There is bullshit all over the place. Do not concentrate on the details in one area (an election day). The crap is everywhere. To get out of the pile of garbage you have to take a step back and look at the broader patterns. Then you nail them on that. Because that is where the truth is easier to see. The truth of their ruthless and heinous ways.

10. Actually, she didn't say that
She said she doesn't trust the system, which is not the same as saying the election was stolen. For her to accuse the Republicans of stealing an election would be libel and she's not that stupid.

COUNTING THE VOTES: Heinz Kerry is openly skeptical about results from November's election, particularly in sections of the country where optical scanners were used to record votes.

"Two brothers own 80 percent of the machines used in the United States," Heinz Kerry said. She identified both as "hard-right" Republicans. She argued that it is "very easy to hack into the mother machines."

"We in the United States are not a banana republic," added Heinz Kerry. She argued that Democrats should insist on "accountability and transparency" in how votes are tabulated.

"I fear for '06," she said. "I don't trust it the way it is right now."

11. You're right, but the implication is there. I don't think a person
can "libel" a political party, but she didn't say "stolen." Funny how folks on DU are careful about precision in language while the Repugs lie their heads off with complete disdain.

12. I don't want Teresa in more hot water
It doesn't help her to have people putting words in her mouth. If she wanted to say "Bush stole the election", she would have. She didn't. Don't put words in her mouth.

Has not one thing to do with Republican lies or anything else.

15. I watch 5 minutes of CNN in the morning to see if the World is
coming to an end and I can stay home from work. That's it. I get most of my news from the paper and the net. Even the net was almost deviod of comment about Teresa Kerry's comments which I exaggerated to "stolen" and I have been chastised for that. I am interested that no one has commented on the sheer unbelievability of the 100 mile an hour story.

but hate the thought of another monthly bill.

If we get nuked I'd rather listen to CD's.

20. Remember, a front tire was shot out.
Of course the driver was Italian, such conditions are child's play to them. He was probably steering with his knees so he could comb his hair while talking on his cellphone.

SOMEBODY ordered them to "warn" the Italians and the world NOT to defy the US. They knew they were coming through that checkpoint.

25. It made the news in Sweden
http://aftonbladet.se/vss/nyheter/story/0,2789,614672,00.html

Not a big article, but better than nothing.
My translation;

Kerry's Wife Blames Election Fraud

New York. The Republican cheated to get the election victory in last years presidential election in the USA.
That is according to the wife of george bush's opponent.
Theresa Heinz Kerry, who is known for speaking her mind, believes the computers that was used in some districts were hacked.
At a meeting in Boston she said - 80 percent of the machines are owned by hardcore republicans and the system is very easy to get in to.
