It just hit me: The pugs are revising the bankruptcy laws because
they KNOW that soon they will bankrupt ALL of America and are protecting themselves before they lose trillions in the upcoming CRASH.
Then the new world order will truly begin. Talk about preparation.
They must be prepared to squeeze the last drop of blood from a dying
citenzry. Wow. Oh, God. I feel sick and depressed now.

1. Not to mention the amount of bankruptsy that results when a Western
nation has no universal health care (& private in the areas where the market works fine).

2.  The Coming Bad Times may actually occur. Maybe the doomsayers are right.
Best to pay down your credit cards and your mortgages. Stock up with some extra supplies and alternative fuel.

I'm not making fun, this is good advice even in prosperous times.

And if this actually occurs, there will be some really ticked off folks and the guys who saved themselves while creating this mess may want to be well out of the country.

6. ever hear of self-fufilling prophesy?
It wasn't GOING to happen. But that was looking back to the Old American Republic and that seems an eternity ago.

I can scarcely remember what it was like to be a citizen of a Free Nation, not a BushPutinist enclave.

3. it just finally hit you?!?!?!
duh!!!!! the whole reason to gut the middle class is because that has always been the source of revolutions. When the NWO comes, the middies are the ones who would raise a fuss. NOt if they are dirt poor.

the next 50 years will be very interesting...

If the middies are dirt poor that's when they especially revolt-most of all if they remember not being poor.

21. sorry - i wasnt clear.
i agree with your post below.

what i failed to say clearly is the middle class will revolt when things go poorly. However, if you bust them down to dirt-poor before hand, in a quick swoop, they will not have any resources with which to revolt.

Point being, even a 1930s style depression would not likely stir up a revolt (it barely did then); but if you have a massive economic collapse (read: Massive Currency devaluation + Oil troubles, peak oil or china/india competition) then this shady little BKR law removes the safety net and the middle class can plunge straight into poverty/indentured servitude/etc. very quickly....

17. no, just spent a lot of time reading about revolutions
I've reached the conclusion there are two flash points: sudden collapse of the middle class and sharp rise in the price of booze.

25. No problem. I was originally just thinking of it only in terms of more
money for the credit card companies. Then I remembered reading about how the power elite wants to completely bankrupt America so they can get rid of the constitution and completely take over. Then it occurred to me... if all of America goes bankrupt, the corporations would lose BIG time.... so .... the revision of the bankruptcy laws is THEIR insurance policy. How DASTARDLY can you be? Talk about pure evil. I'm not a religious man -- but if ever I doubted talks about the apocalypse, I don't any longer.

4. SPOT ON!
They not only plan to milk the cash cow dry, but they've already marked out her hide for where the steaks will be cut and how the hide will be parcelled out.

I figured EVERYONE knew that. It's why I've always been a socialist.

9. Hypothetically: If every American went bankrupt, what would happen?
Also, is there a hypothetical chain of events that could lead to "foreign investors" gaining ownership of what's left of America? Could the country-- in effect-- be "sold" to China and Saudi Arabia?

16. "Could be" sold? TOO LATE!
Huge blocks of real estate already got bought down in Houston by the Saudis, Japanese, and others during the "Savings and Loan Crisis" and the sales by the "Resolution Trust Corporation."

Now they'll just buy the rest at 10 cents on the dollar when we crash. Good plan, Huh?

coup de grace of making everyone a slave to the banks.

The trap door has slammed almost totally shut now. When the economy crashes, that's when things will get truly ugly.

14. And they've done this AFTER they let predatory lenders run loose
and encouraged Americans to rack up historic high debts. Good Americans spend, spend, spend! How many times did they put out that propaganda.

Sounds a bit like how they set up certain small country leaders and then take them out.

It's all planned out.

18. Yes, all of the onus is on the debtor now - no curbs on on creditors
The lenders don't even have to tell you what interest rate they intend to saddle you with, which I can imagine will vary the closer you get to working yourself out of debt, if you don't die first.

They finally tipped their hand and I am not in the least surprised.

12. The only "safety net" will be faith-based organizations
Edited on Wed Mar-09-05 04:37 PM by IanDB1
And those organizations are now allowed to discriminate even if they receive faith-based funding.

And if you want to eat or do commerce, you will have to denounce your god and pledge allegiance to Bush's god and wear a mark on your head and hand.

And so true. Bush cut social programs and funneled the money to churches so that anyone in need will have to be "born again" to recieve any aid.:scared:

What a perfect way to grow their fundie cult.

10. Different slant
I think it comes down to their belief in "survival of the fitest". "Pulling yourself up by the bootstraps". I know it contradicts the creation thing but it doesn't have to make sense.

I also think that they believe what's good for our corporations is good for our country. Our corporations represent the best thing about our country.

Personally I think they are selfish bullies incapable of independent thought but that's my opinion.

A feudal american society with a tiny or no middle-class. An "Ownership" society! The upper 1% will own the rest of us worker bees.

Yet, it may be too late already. I don't know.
However, I'd rather be an optomist and hope we
do have SOME chance of reversing this.
