Hi there burythehatchet! How are you? It was so nice to meet you in Atlanta. I know you're a golfer. I worked on the Richard B. Russell State Park golf course clubhouse site plans. The course just recently opened. It is supposed to be a wonderful course and the clubhouse is really nice.

32. RBR State Park is a day trip from Atlanta.

It's on the GA/SC border at Lake Russell. From Athens, you head north toward Royston and Lavonia. I-85 North should get you there.

RBR State Park is south of Tugaloo State Park. RBR has RV and tent camping, boat ramps, family and group shelters, picnic areas, fishing and the golf course. My firm does a lot of design work for the DNR. The course is the newest one in the Georgia State Parks.

The DNR landscape architect told me that the course has gotten great reviews from the golfers. You might need to make reservations. The clubhouse is a custom architectural design. There are porches with wonderful views. I designed the landscape plan. I hope that it was installed as designed. I need to go visit and take some pictures. The plan was to use all native plant materials.
