http://www.thepeacealliance.org/emails/news/March05.htmTHE PEACE ALLIANCE FOUNDATION office is open in Palo Alto, CA, where we share space with the Foundation for Global Community. In a little over two months, we have launched three significant initiatives:
*
Our INTERNATIONAL INITIATIVE is structured around the UN's Declaration which designates this decade as one of a "Culture of Peace and Nonviolence on behalf of the Children of the World". The initiative will begin with a visit to the United Nations in April to dialogue about the issues in the Department of Peace legislation and the wisdom of Ministers or Secretaries of Peace in all countries. We will anchor this in the United States at our national Conference in Washington DC, September 10-12, 2005. This Conference will be followed by a meeting in the UK with those from other countries who are working as to gather people who see the wisdom of moving forward with plans for Departments and Ministries of Peace in all countries. What better way to support future generations than with advocates for peace in key positions in governments around the world. For more information on our International Initiative, visit:

Our EDUCATION INITIATIVE at Clayton Valley HS in Concord, CA serves as an example of the transformational work that can be done in education throughout the country. The project is going well as we coordinate efforts to customize a process of transformation, answering the call of the students for a more open, connected and caring community, while creating a process model for use in schools throughout the country. http://www.peacealliancefound.org/education.php THE PEACE ALLIANCE continues to grow as we focus on advocating for a U.S. Department of Peace. With your assistance, it is our intention to identify congressional team leaders in all 435 congressional districts (
http://www.thepeacealliance.org/organize) by the time we come together for our conference in Washington DC September 10-12, 2005 (more information and registration coming soon!). The Department of Peace legislation will be reintroduced Monday September 12th, adjacent to the anniversary of 9/11, and we will all be there to encourage our Members of Congress to sign on! Thank you for all your work, past, present, …and future!
