Can someone please help me fine the sanity?
Sorry I just need to vent. I'm sure everyone is feeling the stress now at days but I need help figuring this out.

I've been hearing rumors that gas prices will hit 2.50 a gallon and I am trying to find a second job just to pay the gas for my husband and I can get to work. Unfortunately we live in one county but work in another. Just easy enough and at the time cheap for us to do so when life was a little better. I end up getting unemployed for a few months...(Thought I was going to get a better job but it fell through.) Now I am seriously wondering how I will be able to get to work everyday just to make a living.

I want to scream why but then I begin to think we kind of caused this on ourselves. (hear me out yell at me later.) At one point America was the innovators of train travel and now all we really have is Amtrak which thanks to the Bush Administration will die off. Let us look at Europe and Japan. How do a lot of people get around. Train and subway. How do we Americans get to work? mostly by car. Single individuals in cars for their daily travel no true interactions with one another. Okay so Japan crams travelers in by sardines but can they not get from one city to another in a reasonable amount of time?

Europe has the electric trains with speeds of 100 or more mph....

Perhaps I really do not have an idea hear. Perhaps I am just so angry that a few will profit over the stress I and several other Americans will face this summer with no hope of finding help and relief from this now Democracy in Illusion only.

What can we do--we could not move closer to our work because we are in debt as is. Our landlady has been so good and understanding to us I could not leave her high and dry.

What little help can we get? None. We make too much to get any help--the little that might be given to us and too little to get by without robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Where is the light at the end of the tunnel? Has it become a cruel trick of a god who has reflected a light from a flashlight at the end of the tunnel and watches as we rush toward it to find the light is not the warming sunlight of comfort and happiness but the harsh glow of sarcasm and disillusion.

2. I understand
After my temp job at Dell ended, I couldn't find anything. I've been looking for a job so I can attend grad school for 5 years but managers always want something: me to join their church, read the Bible daily, fix their marriage/relationship with cousin, take the blame for their problems at work, just so I can go to grad school then they mess up my schedule for fun. I haven't even taken the GRE yet.

I am madder than hell at anyone that voted for Bush. He let Bin Laden run free. His "budget" is ruining the value of the $. And he doesn't care nor does his supporters. He's a Christian and that is good enough. I really hate the red state I live in yet I can't move since I lack money.

Thanks, Bush and supporters. Karma is a bitch.

3. I have to clear your train info up a bit.
Getting around Europe is very efficient but it's so much smaller than the USA, as is Japan. Not really fair comparisons.
As far as figuring anything out, I don't know, but we're all in the same boat as far as knowing we have a BIG problem. So how can we get everyone united enough to make a difference?
Peace, Nike. My step-daugher is named Nicki.

5. You find yourselves in the same boat with thousands of other Americans.
People are scared. This is why the Repugs are trying to get away with things that,in the end, screw the middle class, by preying on the fear of loosing their life style and future, the Repugs hope we will follow along, hoping things will get better.

The fact that you and your husband have to keep in mind is....We as Americans are stronger than we know. The two of you will make it on some kind of budget even if it isn't the one you had hoped to have at this time of your life. Working together will make you succeed in keeping head above water and in the process you may find something within yourselves you never knew was there. Remember: you are not your socio-economic group. You and your husband are people, friends, relatives, loved ones, and valued citizens. Hold your heads up high and keep a positive outlook about your selves. Your money situation is just where you are right now....not who you are.

I have had to walk away from most of my belongings before due to my economic situation at the time. I found that I did have the strength to start over and I came out of it a better person. I know I could do it again if the circumstances forced me to.

Good Luck to you and your husband.
