why can't the freepers admit their leader is WRONG?
Seriously! If Shrub took a huge shit on the White House lawn, the next day freepers would be applauding it as a "bold shit" and an "inspiring shit"

23. Self-criticism is a sign of maturity and enlightenment
Self-criticism is the key to progress, through the process of thesis, anti-thesis, and synthesis. It's part of being a progressive indidivual. It is the opposite of stagnation and conservatism. I have always thought that conservatives have been largely defined by their inability to criticize themselves or those who represent their ideals.

And I agree with you about Clinton. I have often hated many actions of Democratic Presidents and have been vocal about it. Maybe this factor is why Democrats aren't as cohesive as Republicans.

They'd blame the accident on Bill Clinton somehow. Because of him, the WH has lost dignity & respect.

14. Start a thread on things Clinton did wrong?
Edited on Tue Mar-08-05 06:15 PM by IanDB1
1) Monica Lewisnsky (He could have had someone MUCH better).
2) He fired Surgeon General Jocelyn Elders.
3) Exempting SUV's from emissions goals.
4) Don't Ask Don't Tell.
5) DOMA.

My guess is he had no idea just how bad some of those would turn out.

"Don't Ask Don't Tell" must have seemed like a good idea for a guy who "didn't inhale."

but I would give a lot to have him back. At least 100,000 Iraqis and 1,500 soldiers would still be alive. Not to mention 3,000 WTC victims.

7. because to them there is no such thing as wrong. God can't be wrong.
If you believe dubya was annointed by God, and God is infallible, then whatever happens, you have to believe that is right and just. So if you say God talks to you and tells you to put a frog's head on a chickens body, this becomes the right thing to do regardless of the effect on the former frog and chicken, because God told you to do it.

15. Maybe that's why I'm the way I am
I have never believed that God was infallible, the human race is the best of example of that. The Old Testament shows that God was not above using a believer to point out to Lucifer how much faith we humans had in God. He told Abraham to sacrifice his son, and stopped him right before the knife was plunged into Isaac. God took everything from Job, even the lives of his wife and children, which in my opinion was unjust, just to prove to Lucifer how even after all of that, Job still remained faithful to God. Sometimes when I read parts of the Old Testament, I cannot help but wonder at how God was really not so great as he was arrogant.

I also know that God has a sense of humor as well, if you don't believe me just look at the duck billed platypus.

Their self-value is co-dependent on "stuff" and others.

Without an extremist in the house, they'd just be another extremist.

29. Strange also that many Germans would never admit that
Hitler was a monster. They refused to believe that Hitler did the atrocities that he did, no matter what they saw with their own eyes, nor what proof and evidence were presented to them. Many went to their graves believing he was their savior.

33. Bankruptcy..
Wait until masses of the lower income Freepers are unemployed and can't file bankruptcy anymore. Where's their God-ordained Chosen Boy then? What they fail to understand is that Freepers at the grass-roots level are nothing more than pawns likely held up for ridicule by the leaders they worship. I imagine Rove and company see them as slack jawed, unwashed yokels who are stupid enough to drink the Kool-Aid and even praise the flavor as they die.

I too, have thought that Rove and Bush just laugh at their Freepers supporters.

You can almost see Bush with a smirk on his face saying to Rove, "we really screwed our cracker base with this bankruptcy law. We better give 'em another round of anti-queer Jesus bullshit to keep them happy".

"The Republican party is run by a few thousand very wealthy men who are only concerned with their financial best interest. They manipulate poor, ignorant people into voting against their own best interests by getting them agitated about non-issues like gay marriage."

They are afraid of being wrong about following a dipshit, they just cannot bring themselves to admit that they have been led by a dipshit, and they are not capable of any independent thought on their own. They just keep ranting from the script for dipshit minions in hopes that all turns out well for them.
