Theresa Heinz Kerry says the voting was rigged with the Diebold Machines..
and no one is paying attention?

COUNTING THE VOTES: Heinz Kerry is openly skeptical about results from November's election, particularly in sections of the country where optical scanners were used to record votes.

"Two brothers own 80 percent of the machines used in the United States," Heinz Kerry said. She identified both as "hard-right" Republicans. She argued that it is "very easy to hack into the mother machines."

"We in the United States are not a banana republic," added Heinz Kerry. She argued that Democrats should insist on "accountability and transparency" in how votes are tabulated.

"I fear for '06," she said. "I don't trust it the way it is right now."

make Teresa look like a nut. You know, with the rolling eyes and smirks.

6. Better late than never, I often wonder if things like this were kept from
the higher up dems.

Seriously they live in a bubble and rely on others to inform them, Dean was the only one who made it an issue before the election.

which cannot exist unless every vote is counted and counted correctly.

34. That's probably why she waited to say this
so that they don't call her a sore loser. They will anyway though.

I wonder if she is planning organizing and/on funding any reform efforts. She certainly has the power to do so.

29. More people are starting to care and it dovetails with election reforms
Going right now. Hillary's working on making votes count, having a paper trail and due process. Individuals are working on local reform. Ohio is still legally pushing the issue of Vote Fraud.

Besides, if she pushes now for 2006 and it gets visability, even if - God Forbid - it doesn't get fixed, we still have high level DEMs out there talking about it. People have to know the problem exists before they can care about it. Most people don't know.

But jumping on this now, means by 2008 there really WON'T be the "they don't know" excuse for repubs.

Everyone is against vote fraud, because to be for it is to admitt dishonesty - even repubs spin it so it looks like maybe they did or maybe it was just an honest mistake.

45. Change does not start with the general public
I starts with a small group of highly passionate idealistic dreamers who cast away pessimism and fight for what's right, and the movement builds from there.

Her comment is useful because it gets the word out to these people that those at the top are aware of what's going on, and that if we build a movement that gives them cover, they'll assist.

If you think that the swifties are the only ACE the BFEE have stuffed up thier sleeve, you should think again.

7. I agree with Theresa, but I have a few more questions.
Is it the actual code on these "mother machines" that we believe is written to falsely record votes, or are we afraid of hackers?

If it's hackers, why aren't the Pubs just as afraid of fraud? Somehow I doubt that ALL hackers are Pubs!

Maybe we should start searching for a few really good hackers to help us out! The old fight fire with fire, ya know.

32. Hmmm well,
You are probably being tongue in cheek. If not, catch up on the vote reform thread.

All hackers are not Pubs, but most hackers have some ethics.

I think patriotic hackers would better use their time making public the information the repubs seek to hide. Simply getting at the truth, rather than rigging an election.

We've beat the bozo's 2 terms in a row, but lost due to vote fraud. It will be oh so much sweeter to whoop their asses righteously and record it fairly so we can hand them their hats and show them the door.

36. Good thing that Russian wife was paranoid when she tasted poison..
Besides, it depends on how long ago she started talking. It wasn't even 2-3 months ago I had people here challenging me and asking lots of questions before they did digging of their own.

Some of the crap that went on, especially in Ohio and Florida is so crazy it reads like a Dukes of Hazzard episode. You want to think, it can't happen like that in America, but now with 1000 pages plus of evidence on record in Ohio and more and more people talking about it, it is gaining real credibility.

And it should, because the truth is the truth.

41. Correct. Lawyer McTigue still on the case.
I don't think Kerry would have bothered to switch lawyers from a probate attorney to one experienced in this sort of litigation.

As for the bashing, it does get monotonous, doesn't it. Some people never miss the opportunity for a driveby snark.
