2. Koppel rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Closing statement - Bush's bravado right after 9/11 elevated binLaden to superstar status. All of the hoopla about terrorists gives them power. Giving up our liberties strengthens them. Grieve quietly. Hunt them discretely. Our enemies only have the power we give them.

5. That was great!
Koppel's closing thoughts were right on the money. I wish I could write like that. Are transcripts available?

6. Yep. Now we need Wonk to get that closing comment.
One of his best and right on the money.

"...WITHOUT BRAVADO.."

7. Afghanistan
W wants America to think that it's over. This date makes me even angrier about the way he has created new problems for our country in Iraq while failing to fix the problems that remain in Afghanistan.

8. Hey, that's right.

We didn't have a USS Showboat announcement for Operation Enduring Freedom.

9. I don't think anyone ever thought Afghanistan
would turn into a peaceful place. It's been in tribal warfare or worse for way past my whole lifetime. The best we can ever hope for there is to not let terrorists train and move in the open. Time magazine has been very good covering this week to week.
