Bush's speech today: "In the words of one Lebanese observer..."
From the transcript of the National Defense University speech today: "In the words of one Lebanese observer, "Democracy is knocking at the door of this country. And if it's successful in Lebanon, it is going to ring the doors of every Arab regime."

How obvious is it that a speechwriter just made this up?

7. I agree with you
Not all Lebanese are against Syria - evidenced by the march today. There will be a civil war.

17. Especially if Bush insists on putting his mark on such a withdrawl
as Bush's interference will undeniably be seen as favoring Israel.

6. Poor bush doesn't know that the Lebanon majority support Syria & Hizbullah
The SHIA, bush.

No, bush, "democracy" isn't knocking at their door.

Civil war is, though.

By the way, bush, you're mixing your metaphors again. "KNOCKING" and "RING". Moran.

8. If it's blasting down the door with a battering ram,
it may actually be something else pretending to be democracy.

10. A very corny speechwriter, one with no ear for actual dialogue.
In fact, sounds suspiciously like the young George W. Bush's writing. :puke:
I'd lay odds it's his.

16. Please, I'm grateful he didn't blurt out "THE LESBIAN OBSERVERS"
What with the 'important' issue of banning gay marriage on his mind and all.
