Once the rightwingers have total control
of the courts and we move to states rights, can legislation in an individual state be prevailing law as far as civil rights go? I was wondering if I had to run for the legislature in my state to get a law passed providing legal protections for the disabled. If I did so, would that be prevailing law that couldn't be taken away?

4. The Real Dilemma ...
Does one stand (and stay) believing one's efforts are needed to keep the ideals alive? Many people remained in Germany after January 1933 believing they could make a difference from within.

Does one leave, recognising the direct threat to one's life; thus leaving the masses to a fate of grief, greed and graft? The people who made the break from Germany in the 1930's, were able to continue to resist from without.

When one draws one's sword against his Prince, throw away the scabbard.

5. I don't think we are there yet
I'm not going to judge anybody else's decision to leave, but I think the current battle over Social Security will show President Bush's weakness. I think they've gone about as far as they can go, and the time for despair is not yet. Instead I think we are at that part of night that is the darkest.

6. Of course
concerning disabilities, the present court has already determined that in cases of discrimination by state government, disabled people are not eligible to seek monetary damages. With any new appointees, the rest of ADA is to be dismembered and 14th amendment rights will be denied based on their rulings that the disabled are not to be a class considered for protection.
