The US Arrested a Female University Professor in Baghdad. Why?
We will probably never know but we sure aren't making any friends over it.....

Iraqi college students chant anti-U.S. slogans as they demonstrate in the University of al-Mustansiriya in Baghdad March 8, 2005. Hundreds of students left their classes on Tuesday as they demonstrated against U.S.-led occupation in their country. The demonstration came one day after U.S. troops conducted a raid in the university and arrested one of their female professors. REUTERS/Ali Jasim

Edited on Tue Mar-08-05 06:21 AM by ClintonTyree
why would they want an educated Iraq? Education gives one the power to see through the government bullshit and question it's methods. Heaven forbid THAT happen anywhere.
Iraqis are finding out what this Democracy stuff is all about. Reslug Democracy that is.
Keep them stupid and scared, the official motto of right wing politics.
It's almost certain they'll never hear from this professor again. She's being "re-educated". :eyes:

3. That's probably very close to the truth
The Right has presented no illusions of how they feel about education. In a locale as chaotic as Iraq, they have a lot more freedom to act as they will - which includes getting rid of educated people who might spread that nasty disease called "learning".
