"WHERE ARE THE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION??"
I remember a couple of weeks after the war I was asking the Repubs I know where are the WMD's. Oh they'd puff out their chests and with a confident tone say, they will be found.

I can't tell you what fun it is to ask them the same question today.

Now I'm seeing reports of nerve agents and napalm being used during the Falluja attack. See WMD's are ok as long as it's us that have them....

49. Really
Bernie Ward was talking about this and I was so disgusted. :puke: It's disgusting how BushCo go around the world and demand other people give up their weapons but we still have them and use them. I believe it was Napolm that was declared illegal in 1980 by the UN so this explains why the new Bush US embassoador to the UN wants to destroy them (among the other reasons). Plus I earlier on Sundance was watching "Bowling for Columbine" and Moore was pointing out how WE have the most largest factories that make WMD's and use them all the time.

2. Silly. The Iraq invasion was about spreading freedom.
George Bush wanted to liberate the Iraqis, out of the good of his heart. And he wants to liberate the Iranians, and the Syrians, and the Venezuelans, and the Cubans, and everyone else who doesn't enjoy the benefits of corporate capitalism - if they have oil.

Something about FREEDOM and LIBERTY and how you personally must hate the troops and hope they die (Rush says that anyone who knows the actual US death toll in Iraq really is rooting for the insurgents just to win political points)

Since he didn't and only wanted to spread freedom and democracy, that is what he is doing.

Who are you to question Almighty Bush? He works in mysterious ways that the mortal mind cannot fathom, so stop talking about things that are beyond the comprehension of mere mortals/

8. My co-worker knows where they are
he told me just today: they're buried underneath all the sand. He was not joking. He believes this. I asked him about Colin Powell standing up in front of the UN with his pages of diagrams and listed locations. Doesn't matter. They're in Iraq. Under the sand.
(last month, they were spirited away to Pakistan and Syria).
Next up, David Copperfield made them disappear.

My ex-boss says that "We found them, we just can't tell anyone about them."

When I pointed out that even Chimpy and Rumfilled admit we haven't found them, he says "They're just keeping it secret".

He wasn't joking. Faith-based belief.

That stuns them into silence for awhile. :D

And if Iraq sent bio and/or chem weapons to anyone back in 1991, they were good for nothing more than salad dressing many years ago.

Rightwingnuts really are THE stupidest MFers on the planet. I figure another 8, maybe 10 years, and they'll learn the facts that the rest of America and the entire world already knew some time ago.

But first to Manitoba for a few years, as the cost of living and jobs for CFOs are better than Victoria. We could just go to Vancouver, but as beautiful a city as it is, it's pricey to live in and it's just too damn BIG, lol!

there was no WMD's. Egads whats the purpose of having WMD's if you're not going to use them against an invading army? That right there should have been a wake up call to the wilfully ignorant. But no instead they chose to believe even a more ridiculous argument that Saddam moved them. Why would, he had moved them? Was he saving them for a rainy day? I never knew a republican that uses common sense. How stupid do they have to be to continue to believe this filthy administrations’ crap? First off even the giggling killer (Bush) would never had sent our soldiers into Iraq if he thought there was a chance they would use WMD's against us. Look at all the countries we avoid because they do have WMD's.

I flip over to "Lie Radio" during breaks on Air America when I drive home from work. Today's guest Liar told the sheeple that, "The Iraq War was not about WMD's. It was about fighting terrorism. Anyone who tries to tell you anything different is flat out lying."

This about sent me into APE SHIT mode, and I'm glad that the car in front of me wasn't wearing a W'04 sticker. I'm so close to snipping AM antennas from those fuckin' idiots, you know, as a compassionate intervention.

37. That is a very serious and important question,
one that screams out to be answered, especially after the Bush Administration announed their decision to stop searching for the WMD.

My theory is that we destroyed them intentionally after the first Iraq War and that we covered this up. Soldiers returning from Desert Storm complained of Gulf War Syndrome, a health condition that the Pentagon and VA refused to acknowledge. In the mid-1990s, Senator Reigle and the Reigle Commission investigated Gulf War Syndrome. Their nearly 600 page report opens with an Introduction that states:

"...In October 1992, the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, which has Senate oversight responsibility for the Export Administration Act (EAA), held an inquiry into the U.S. export policy to Iraq prior to the Persian Gulf War. During that hearing it was learned that U.N. inspectors identified many U.S.- manufactured items exported pursuant to licenses issued by the U.S. Department of Commerce that were used to further Iraq's chemical and nuclear weapons development and missile delivery system development programs.

On June 30, 1993, several veterans testified at a hearing of the Senate Committee on Armed Services. There, they related details of unexplained events that took place during the Persian Gulf War which they believed to be chemical warfare agent attacks. After these unexplained events, many of the veterans present reported symptoms consistent with exposure to a mixed agent attack. Then, on July 29, 1993, the Czech Minister of Defense announced that a Czechoslovak chemical decontamination unit had detected the chemical warfare agent Sarin in areas of northern Saudi Arabia during the early phases of the Gulf War. They had attributed the detections to fallout from coalition bombing of Iraqi chemical warfare agent production facilities..."

The Reigle Commission tried to subpoena records from the Department of Defense to determine if there had been any discoveries of Saddam's WMD following the close of the First Gulf War. The government issued contradictory statements, that records of weapons destruction were not kept, or that if kept, they were classified.

In 1997, the CIA issued a long report entitled "Khamisiyah: An Historical Perspective On Related Intelligence." In that report, the CIA finally admitted that US troops had found sarin-tipped warheads at the giant weapons depot of Khamisiyah inside Iraq and that they had destroyed them in the closing days of Desert Storm. They have only admitted to one weapons bunker. My guess is that covert ops were all over Iraq after Saddam's army was crushed in Desert Storm. I don't see how the US military would have blown the opportunity to disarm Saddam, even though they didn't take him out. My belief is that weapons and technology sold to Iraq by private US companies, pursuant to US Department of Commerce Export Licenses (identified in the Reigle Report) were identified by US covert ops and kept secret, because of embarrassment to the Reagan/Bush Administrations. Furthermore, the massive destruction of Saddam's WMD arsenal was kept secret because it contaminated our own unsuspecting troops in the Gulf region following the Desert Storm conflict (i.e. "we gassed our own people"). My guess is that these records exist somewhere in the archives of the Pentagon and that Bush knew that we had destroyed much if not all of Saddam's arsenal. The lie was perpetuated to prevent soldiers from filing massive disability claims. Later, Bush exploited it as the only possible way to drag the United States into a bogus war.

That is what I believe; a massive cover-up that may be the cover-up of cover-ups. It think your question is a very serious one and should be pursued by an investigative reporter.

44. Rep. Sam Johnson said they are in Syria
& he'd personally take care of them.

"Syria is the problem. Syria is where those weapons of mass destruction are, in my view. You know, I can fly an F-15, put two nukes on 'em, and I'll make one pass. We won't have to worry about Syria anymore."

67. Do you really care? Does anyone on DU care really? Here is why I ask
I remember reading this board back then (prior to my signing up). One of the main things I found perplexing was the following I elicited from threads on the whole thing:
"If bush finds WMD it was because he planted, if he does not find them it was because he lied"....

So let me pose this question- If they were found, would you (I mean du'ers in general) care or would simply shift gears and say he planted them? SO WMD are not the real topic deep down at all.

Now we have super man bush, the master of conspiracies (according to some, not all of course) who could have simply planted one wmd and never did. Had he found some we would have felt he lied anyway.

So I am lost as to where the truth lay. Is he an idiot, was he duped (as clinton and others were over the last X years by intel reports), did all this go into some master plan to make him look bad, and so on....
