Heard that Armstrong Cable was launching the Pentagon Channel
The Advertisement said it was being ad to the digital package BUT due to "these" times they were going to add it to the basic line up.

LET THE PROPAGANDA BEGIN

1. if you are an armstrong subscriber...

would you please call their cust service and request that they add "BBC World Service" to their basic lineup ?

Most satellite services carry multiple BBC channels, their news reporting and programs have a global perspective vs our 24x7 coverage of - monicagate / peterson trial / jackson trial / ...

Their channel lineup people evaluate the number of people requesting and add channels accordingly.

Visit their site for your cust svc #

thnx for your time.

2. Actually it was my client's house. I have Adelphia who strangely
dropped the international news channel even after they made us switch our service (to their new line up just to keep it.) I'm just waiting to see all news disappearing EXCEPT for FAUX.

5. its a little more trouble...
but if your client will acquiesce ask him/her to call armstrong.

Better yet, if a Satellite subscriber in Armstrong's territory calls in and asks if they offer BBC world service in their basic channel lineup, even more weight would be given to the request.

thnx again.

3. Our tax money should not be used to create this channel and
the Cable providers shouldn't be pandering to this. Complain to Armstrong and tell them you don't want propaganda playing. This isn't some private corporate enterprise, like Military Channel, this is OUR money illegally being used to propagandize citizens. Tell your congressman, too.

4. if I understand correctly it is not our tax money

it is the subscriber fees being used to pay for this channel.

Do cable & Satellite providers really have a choice as far as carrying this channel goes ? that's another story :-)

Remember these providers have to keep the FCC happy or someone at the FCC will cut their fibrewire (I don't mean literally). If 20 million armstrong subscribers loose their cable feed at 7:59 pm on Thu (before survivor), Armstrong wont be around on Monday to talk about it :-).

The FCC is made up of appointees by you know who.

So the enormous power of the FCC is easily used/abused to tame media outlets into falling in line and towing the party line.

7. The Pentagon channel programs are created with our tax money
and the cable comes into it secondarily by giving them the platform to play it.

6. And let me guess, they're going to call it "CNN-2"...
"The second most trusted name in propaganda."
