The DLC is a liablity to the Democratic Party
Edited on Sat Mar-05-05 10:15 PM by Cascadian
Has anybody read this article that came out in January of this year? It is a little dated but it makes a lot sense to what the DLC is really trying to do to the Democratic Party. It was authored by Craig Axford, the Co-Chair of the Utah Democratic Progressive Caucus. He is right that all of the progressive and liberal organizations MUST unite to move the DLC aside and bring the Democratic Party back to it's core principles. I hope it happens. Maybe Dean's election to the party Chair position is a sign of this. I also like the fact the author pointed out that us on the left values tolerance but we have our limits and we have to start playing hardball against the Neocons.

Read on....

2. Not much chance of the DLC moving our party forward. The future lies
with the people - not with those who have their mitts in corporate pockets. Those days are over.

3. Yes, we need--
to distance ourselves from the center/right and the 'Al From' chickenhawk wing of the radical center.

8. all this DLC boogyman stuff is counter productive ...
if you have a beef with the DLC, wrest what let control that they have of the party through the ballot box and state committees. That is where the battle is fought. If you cannot win in the Democratic Party, you don't have a hope of winning the electorate as a whole.

Bottom line ... if they offend you battle them. Otherwise, I am left thinking what-the-fuck-ever.
