All together now....
LIEBERMAN IS BETTER THAN BUSH.

I don't like him. I don't like him at all. But he has a solid domestic record, he will surround himself with Dems, and he's not Bush. The "Bush over Lieberman" crowd is astounding to me. Did anyone see Al Franken when asked this quesion? "Would you vote for Joe over Bush?" "Yes...are you kidding?"

This proves that, sadly, Franken isn't a DUer, because he would have realized that the idealogy runs strong. Who here will vote for Bush over Lieberman, or refrain from voting if he is the nominee?

4. not that it is saying much
but yes he is. I hate bashing other dems. They all have flaws, Lieberman especially does not fit with the typcial DUer's vision for the U.S. Hey, I'm a Kucinich guy, but you can damn well bet that come November '04, I'm voting for whoever gets the Demo nomination. Be it Lieberman, Edwards, Kerry, Dean or a mop handle stuffed inside a suit.

5. I would vote for Lieberman
Like most at DU, I wouldn't be psyched about it.

I wonder who Lieberman would choose as a running mate -- maybe a swarm of killer bees? Heck, I'd still vote Dem.

6. Sure, and psoriasis is better than cancer.
But I don't want either one.

I heard Bill O'Reilly was praising Leiberman today, saying he's the only Democratic candidate that makes sense. That is... disturbing.

7. Only If Lieberman Promises To Represent America and Not Israel
I'm sorry if this isn't appreciated, but I for one am getting sick and tired of Israel having such a large impact on the US.

It needs to stop, and all parties in the ME need to be treated equally.

8. I wouldn't vote for Whistle ass if a gun were being held to my head!
Nor will I refrain from voting if Lieberman is the nominee! No matter who gets the nomination, gets my vote, including Lieberman! It is real simple for me. I want the MISERABLE FAILURE OUT! Even if he wasn't the miserable failure he has turned out to be, I would still want him out for STEALING the election! I tend not to like THIEVES!

At least people had social security, secure employment, and free compulsory education under Stalin.

13. Not if you vote for Bush instead of Lieberman.
or a third party candidate. If Lieberman were to be the candidate (won't happen unless the DLC is as corrupt as the Repigs.)and he loses Democratic votes to Bush or a third party candidate, then look forward to another four years of Bush.

I do have other issues with Lieberman that I haven't seen addressed here, but I am not airing them because of the atmosphere of hostility current on these forums today.

I would vote for Mussolini over *

Either would be an improvement from an efficiency standpoint and far less tyranical.

Anybody who stays home and pouts on election day because Holy Joe got the nomination is a chicken shit Repuke enabler. And I can't stand Liebs.

19. You're right about Mussolini...
At least he rebuilt the Italian economy.

I don't think even Fascist Italy (at least until the Holocaust) was as fascist as America under the Patriot Act.

20. While Lieberman is better than bush
and if I had to I would very grudgingly vote for him, do not kid yourself that he would surround himself only with democrats. His cabinet would be far, far better than shrubs. Don't get me wrong. But even Clinton looked across the aisle for a few positions (to show how bipartisan he was and how he would take the 'best' wo/man for the job), my guess is that Lieberman going for the same effect would put a few more republicans in positions than did Clinton, and that the dems selected would be very centrist (no Robert Reich in this cabinet, I would guess), and on some issues just might be mainline republican.

Still better than bush.

But not quite as cheery, imo, as is portrayed as "he would appoint democrats..."
