Ann Coulter showing signs of writing while drunk.
It's obvious she's an alcoholic. David Brock wrote about how she used to crawl on her hands and knees in Washington's wateringholes after downing a few too many carafes of Chardonnay. (Chardonnay?! What a girlyman!) Chris Hitchens is an alcoholic, but at least he doesn't let it show in his writing. But now Coulter's mean drunk act is getting too hard to hide.

That old WASP!

1. Was that Ann Coulter who used to crawl around?
I thought it was Laura Ingraham. I have to get my copy of "Blinded by the Right" back from the last person I loaned it to. I've been meaning to read it a second time.

4. Yes it was Ann "In the Bag" Coulter
He said he wondered how she could survive on nothing but Chardonnay and cigarettes. He probably never saw her retching up lunch in the ladies' room.

7. Based on the "Hannity and Colmes"
...footage that someone posted here a couple days ago I'd imagine that she does more in the ladies room than retch up lunch. Snort. Snort.

9. No wonder she stays so slim.
And so awake after all those carafes of Chardonnay!

13. I read David's book and he said it was Laura Ingrahm.
But that doesn't mean Ann isn't a lush either.

3. I don't know
her article today was pretty cagey--totally deceptive, but smartly deceptive.

Still some of the gratuitous attacks in the article are prtty pointless and mean.

10. Genius? You mean you think she might just be a parody after all?
If that's true, it is ingenius. Sometimes I wonder. But the coarseness of the "that old Arab" line suggests a definite lack of genius to me. Or self-control for that matter.

15. If Ann Coulter's a "genius," then I'm a giraffe.
Never mind the hateful, nigh-sociopathic rantings that flood her pages, it's her style more than anything that offends me: even if she were on our side, she'd still be a piss-poor excuse for a wordsmith. (And she has no clue how to use footnotes.)

Genius? I dare you to give ONE example.

Otherwise I'll have to categorize you as someone who really doesn't belong here.

19. that is an insult
to drunk writers everywhere!

I write drunk all the time...do some of my best work that way!

A better subject line would read:

Ann Coulter shows signs of of writing while bigoted, stupid, and mean.

23. It's on anncoulter.com
I read about it here:

http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000819285

In her Feb. 23 column, Coulter wrote: "Press passes can't be that hard to come by if the White House allows that old Arab Helen Thomas to sit within yards of the president." Universal said it removed the word "Arab" before distributing the column to Coulter's 110 client papers; the new version read "dyspeptic, old Helen Thomas." But "Arab" remained in the version Coulter put on her Web site.
