ALERT: The Advance Democracy Act of 2005 - The Draft Plus Bill
This information was obtained by two South Korean news media. I checked these sources and they seem to be creditable. This bill finally lets us know who are the true Republicans in Democrat clothing. Tom Lantos and frmr VP candidate Lieberman.

U.S. Draft Bill Seeks 'Global Democracy"
The Chosun Ilbo (South Korean News Paper)

Two U.S. lawmakers have completed a draft bill that aims to
achieve "global democracy" by 2025. Democrat lawmaker Tom Lantos, a cosponsor of the North Korea Human Rights Act, and Republican lawmaker Frank Wolf, a supporter of the North Korea Freedom Act, have completed work on the "ADVANCE Democracy Act" and will submit it to the House of Representatives sometime this week, a House official said Tuesday. The bill, which lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have been working on since August, targets dictatorships such as North Korea and has been known as the "end dictatorship and support democracy bill."

A 90-page rough draft of the bill produced on Feb. 4 and obtained by the Chosun Ilbo offers the first concrete insight into a bill that has so far only been discussed in general terms. Broken up into six chapters, it defines the promotion of democracy around the world as a fundamental goal of U.S. foreign policy, claiming that it will protect U.S. security and interests and ultimately lead to world peace.

The bill would place the U.S. State Department under secretary for global affairs in charge of democracy promotion and create a new bureau within the State Department in charge of assisting democratic movements around the world. It would also call for the designation of at least one officer in charge of human rights and democracy promotion at U.S. legations in "undemocratic" nations who, together with the legation head, would actively meet with locals to propagate democratic ideas.

It grants the U.S. president the authority to take punitive measures against undemocratic states, including the authority to confiscate their property in the U.S. It also sets aside a budget of US $700 million over a four-year period to support the work of pro-democracy individuals and civic groups abroad.

On March 3, The Advance Democracy Act of 2005 will be introduced to both the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives. This bill incorporates a plan to replace tyranny with democracy, falling in line with U.S. president George W. Bush's declaration to "spread of freedom."

This bill will put the State Department's International Affairs vice-minister in charge of administering a plan to spread and increase democracy around the world. The bill will also create a Democracy Movement Performance division within the Department of State. A human rights delegate will be sent to American legations in despotic countries, and the U.S. president will have the right to freeze or seize American assets in those states.

It is said that the Senate and the House of Representatives will discuss the disbursement of thousands of billions of won to foreign civil organizations that fight against tyranny.

Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Joseph Lieberman (D-Conn.), and Reps. Frank Wolf(R-Va.) and Tom Lantos (D-Calif.) led the introduction of the bill. Apart from the participants from both parties, senior researcher Michael Horowitz from the Hudson Research Institute, who drafted the North Korea human rights law last year, also participated. The administrators of the law have been saying that "this law is not only for North Korea," but that "North Korea may be a primary target."

3. It is the military draft
The reason it's not included in those articles why would they care about our draft. How else do you think we are going to advance democracy.

4. I believe you, but I want to see it in writing before I call my Rep.
And I'll bet it's located in that provision about the Democracy Movement Performance division. The name just reeks of involuntary servitude and FASCISM.
