WTF?!? Just saw commercial for Faux News on CNN?!??
Has this been going on a long time, and I just missed it? At first I thought I'd accidentally turned to the wrong channel - then the CNN newsdesk (maybe I should use that term lightly now) was back. Just strikes me as really, really weird!

1. That is greed taken to an absurd level, I'd say.

2. The commercial was probably booked locally.

They give over a percentage of ad time to "local" ads.

Edited to add: The management at CNN probably doesn't even know about it.

4. Same ol' Same ol'...
... The other day I saw CNN showing a RAW FEED of FNC (Complete
with scroller...) as news.

Pure lazyness...

Dat's why I don't watch TeeVee anymore.

6. They do that through the local company
Networks (either broadcast or cable) don't control 100 percent of their commercial time. A certain number of spots an hour go to the local affiliate or the local cable company. That's why you can see an ad for Fred's Feedbag during Larry King Live.

FoxNews probably bought the spot from the company.

Do you know where this used to happen to an insane degree? During the Monday Night Wrestling Wars. WWF and WCW used to buy a few spots a night during each other's broadcasts.

9. Are you by any chance in Canada?
Where I live, Shaw Cable is advertising their new offering of Fox News as an extra channel option. I saw three of these commercials yesterday on CNN.

Even Fox's commercial's are puke-worthy: something about "Fair & Balanced", something about being America's trusted news source, and a commercial for O'Reilly that makes him out to be a serious journalist who's "Independent". LMAO!

Sorry folks. I didn't know this was such a common practice or I would not have posted it. Next time I'll be more informed and less ignorant before I post!

12. I heard a commercial for a Republican on Air America (WLIB)
The NY station had an ad for a Republican candidate for something in New Jersey. I wasn't paying attention until I heard something like, "First Republican elected to X in 100 years"
