3. Think a few of us are thinking along same lines tonight
I have a post about Buchanan vs. McCain on this and someone mentioned that Olberman says that Bush's doctrine seems to be working, etc. I think a detect a WH propaganda campaign being outlined and given to the propaganda media to start spewing. It's probably to bolster the SS thing so people will say "he's such a visionary---we should have believed in him all along". Well, like I pointed out, we support a lot of dictatorships and monarchies over there and if the people overthrow them they do it because they also hate us. We could end up with a region of the world sitting on all that oil that just pulled the plug on us. As Buchanan said: we don't know what the results are going to be 5-10 years down the line if we get this area all rattled up.

5. MSNBC & CNN apparently have "What if Bush was right?" tags.
Is the shit flying in the Middle East proof that "democracy" is taking root all 'cause Bush mislead us into an aggressive occupation to "spread democracy"?

Talk about spreading the freakin' kool-aid!!!

7. I couldn't believe what I was hearing from KO on this tonight.
I was really surprised when I heard him and the journalist on this point. First, are things really all that great in the Middle East, and how in the world is Bush responsible for it (if there are a few good developments).

17. Lebanon/Syria is not directly related to Bush's romp in Iraq
And Libya giving up WMDs was the efforts of the EU.

What about Pakistan, North Korea, Saudi Arabia (a lot of just talk coming out of there), Iran and even Afghanistan still?

This Canadian doesn't. Nor do any of the many Canadians I know. Do Americans think all Canadians do drugs?

10. Of course not. I don't even know where that off-the-wall crap came from.
Perhaps, an avoidance-response thingy?

12. Dunno. The "spread of democracy" while the world's going nuts,...
,...is my issue.

The misappropriation of reality by the CM makes me freakin' sick.

However, I now know, in my mind/heart/head/gut that corporocrats are desperate for perception management in order to safe their asses and maintain their profiteering.

13. Notice while they're cheering Lebanon for wanting their occupiers out...
America is still occupying Iraq.

The bar has yet again been lowered; it was "elections = democracy" even if what was elected was a raging fundamentalist theocracy...but now it's "kicking out occupiers = democracy".

So COME ON IRAQIS! KICK OUT YOUR OCCUPIERS! That's the new & many times revised bush Doctrine method to democracy!

14. Yep. The neoCONs plan a permanent military presence in Iraq and distract
,...from the reality of their intentions by pointing to Syria's military presence in Lebanon. I'm not going to INJECT myself into the goings on in Lebanon, except to the extent of trying to understand what is happening and why.

However, I will NOT be distracted from the game of deception and power being played by my own government.

I guess I was reacting to the recent bat-swinging at my Canadian friends of late.

19. My Canadian friends nobody would dare take a bat to.
They're all women, and can handle themselves.

One's an Egyptologist currently at some univerity in Wales and a real Macintosh guru, the other is working in psycholinguistics a U. South Carolina and makes chutneys that are out of this world, another one's tenure-track in computational linguistics at UCLA. I wouldn't be surprised if the egyptologist did hallucinogens at some point ... not the others, though.

I have weird friends. Ciao!

15. these neonuts give democracy a bad name
I don't think what we have there is actually democracy as it developed here in the U.S. What we have here isn't really democracy in any pure sense. All we have done in that region is awakened different reactionary elements of nationalism. Who knows what to support with all of the subversive influences that sparked these mini-revolutions? We sure don't have a clue here in the United(?) States of Amerika.

What we should actually be striving for is peace and justice, but you won't hear any celebration of that anytime soon, here or elsewhere.
