Frist pledges to finish two terms in Senate, then work on a cure for AIDS!
Edited on Tue Mar-01-05 07:56 PM by Stephanie

LOL! That is the biggest lie he has told yet! Says he is not going to run for President in 2008. Will complete two terms and then return to his real love, practicing medicine, either in private practice, in medical missions, or maybe working on a cure for HIV/AIDS. Tell us another one, Frist! Ha ha ha!

No link - he was just interviewed on Jim Lehrer Newshour.

Who needs the Daily Show when you have the Newshour for laughs!

7. when the 'problem' is that there are too few paying into SS and they
they propose to 'fix' the 'problem' by taking out some of the few people that in the system (say 1/3 of each person/money)--tell me the logic of this!!!!!!!
I am glad he is not my doc 'diagnosing' my problem!!

11. True. He does have a lot of clout.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if he DID use his clout and notoriety for good works outside formal politics? He could actually be of a great use in AIDS and Cancer research. I'm not sure I believe him, but I hope he's telling the truth.

19. he's the genius who couldn't recall how HIV is transmitted - he's
sidling up to the anti-science wing of the GOP.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Now you're a doctor. Do you believe that tears and sweat can transmit HIV?
FRIST: I don't know. I can tell you --
STEPHANOPOULOS: You don't know?

10. Actually, he was a researcher.
He was a transplant surgeon, and most of them are also heavily involved in research.

21. thanks for that info - he just doesn't impress me as a hands on
researcher, but more as an investor in a pharmaceutical panacea for HIV/AIDS. Something he could tack his name on and make big bucks off of without getting his hands dirty.

12. Yeah...I guess his "cure"...
...will be to dry up tears and sweat:eyes:

Sounds as though kkk is sending cat-killer out to test the waters. After all, only ~2-3 years to pump up the next sociopath to be a viable pReziduncial candidate :puke: :puke: :puke:

Oh well, at least cat-killer or jeb are better starting material (can walk and talk at the same time) than kkk's last creation.

14. Hah!Just like(twin) Barbara said she was going to work with AIDS kids in
"Africa or Eastern Europe" - at least that's what she said when she was campaigning with her father. When last heard from she was still boozing it up in the Georgetown pubs with Jenna, and they were planning to buy a condo in Georgetown.

Reminds me of those Miss America contestants all wishing for "world peace". Guess they won't be saying that this year - it would get them investigated by DHS.

15. What an arrogant insincere ass
I've been working in HIV research for years; so many people have dedicated their LIVES to finding the key to HIV. Frist's comment is an insult to all of them.

17. Now we know where Bush's 18 billion pledge for AIDS medication
to be given to Africa went. Frist has a corporation set up ready to deliver the "cure" for... you guessed it... 18 Billion dollars. And the cure will be a jeebus prayer book sprinkled with holy water.

Can I say that? I hate this guy. Experimenting on stray cats, must have a great bed side manner. Why would someone of his ilk want to cure AIDS, don't they believe it's divine retribution or some such BS?
