A very stupid question

when you see a long or even short thread with replys and there are those "deleted " posts,were those deleted by the Mods or self deleted by the poster ? It seems like some threads that become flame outs or some numb nuts disruptured gomer asking leading questions have a whole bunch of deleted posts.,they must be pretty entertaining .

1. Usually, the mods delete the posts

after it becomes obvious that the poster is a freeper troll and/or a number of alerts have been sent. Said troll is promptly tombstoned.

you can tell when the mods do it cuz it has a link to the rules

most DUers write "self delete" when they do it themselves

When mods delete a post there'll be a "see DU rules" message.

I usually miss all the juicy deleted bits. :D
