17. Rather & his producers were worked into an emotional frenzy and

then broke their own rules of 'verifying' information as a result. So they lost their jobs for breaking their own journalistic rules.

The person responsible for working them into an emotional frenzy are the sociopaths in the White House. As to the document and its validity - he doesn't really matter. It needed to be verified and it wasn't. They went to air.

So the moral is that when you are dealing with sociopaths ... no matter how emotionally aroused they get you (and that is what they do is emotionally arouse different groups: their enemies are aroused to make them 'seem like they are acting crazy or deranged' & can then be judged on that arousal) you do now knee-jerk react. You dig deep and know your own emotional blind spots. You feel the bait and you process that feeling and you decide how to act according to the adult & the cop within you. Then you follow your own rules.

Because like the BTK killer, the WH will hold you to rules and break your career over rules that they themselves are not following.

No I do not think that Rove or anyone set up those documents. All he needed to do was whip the 'liberal journalists' into a frenzy of fear and loathing long enough for someone to trip up. Sociopaths like Rove stick with the emotional manipulations because paper leaves fingerprints - Emotions do not.

evolve. There are no fingerprints on manipulating people's emotions & thus their thinking. We all want to find a smoking gun but chances are it will not happen. The War, the fight, the battles will be long hard marches and slogs, where Democrats have to try to continuously "punch through" to truths we hold as human beings and citizens. And speculation is not something that works.
