Comparison of Vietnam deaths to Iraq war deaths.
http://www.lies.com/wp/2003/10/20/us-deaths-in-vietnam-and-iraq-by-month/
This site compares the early years of Vietnam to the Iraq debacle.
The Iraq numbers are higher (granted there were less troops in Vietnam in the early years) but what if a regional conflict breaks out. Should the current war in Iraq be a precursor to a regional war, Vietnam will look like a day in the park incomparison.

2. Given the number of troops in Vietnam
during the first years, these charts are not very meaningful. The number of troops in Vietnam during the first few years was in 4 digits, while, during a comparable time, the number in Iraq was in 6 digits.

A more meaningful chart would graph the deaths per troops committed.

3. Good info, but the real issue is the civilian deaths...
Contemporary warfare increasingly protects the U.S. soldier, but apparently at the expense to women and children civilians to a great extent.

Another issue ignored by the American public is the extent of child soldiers, including in Iraq, where U.S. soldiers have unexpectedly had to deal with the problem.

Anyone have any links to info on this, please post.
