If you aren't healthy & well off, maybe you don't deserve to be in America
Edited on Tue Mar-01-05 05:37 AM by mopaul
if you struggle to pay the bills, if you're credit rating is lousy, if you have to work two jobs to keep from drowning, if you are one paycheck away from homelessness, maybe you don't deserve to live in america, where anybody can get a good job and become stinking rich and drive giant cars and live in a giant house.

all these lazy poor folks who can't keep up are a big drag on those of us who work for our money. dick cheney made it to the top of the heap, why can't you? or would you rather just have 12 kids and live in squalor off the government teat forever?

this is the land of opportunity where anyone who wants to can work, so get up off your slothful asses and get out there and get a job and be a man and stop whining about how hard everything is, you don't know how good you have it here! even a man in a wheelchair can sell pencils on the corner, and a woman can take in ironing on the side, for christ's sake, get up and get a job!

give up your ssi benefits, give up your medicaid and welfare and food stamps and free clinics and be a man! if you can't find a job in america, you ain't lookin' hard enough partner.

in america you're either stinkin rich, or just stinkin'

2. Slavery was better than a minimum wage job
At least slaves got free room and board. A minimum wage earner in the US can hardly even survive without going into debt, the new slave master is the credit card companies.

12. Obviously you have never been whipped, chained, and had your
children sold and taken away from you in return for food and shelter.

6. If you aren't "abled," we know you're ignored. "Oh, there's a law

to help those people, I don't have to worry about them. Besides, I'm tired of them whining about parking and access. You almost never see them, nobody uses those parking spaces half the time." ETC.

13. student loans, credit cards, minimum wage,
they loan you money cause you need it to get an education, then when there are no jobs, you still owe the money, and your degree is useless. i know dozens of people who've been through this revolving door. i know one guy who lives by going to school, on loans and grants and he's 52, been doing it forever. he's very well educated but not exactly well off.

15. They are going to garnish my wages next....
....even if I could pay $544.00 a month for the next 18 years, I would still owe them. Now, riddle me this... How am I suppose to save for my retirement? ;)

I had a great job, money, BMW.... until I went to school "to better myself" now I'm broke and will end up dying in an ally somewhere in America!

16. Get sick, lose job, lose benfits, lose house, go bankrupt
Edited on Tue Mar-01-05 07:54 AM by Phoebe Loosinhouse
This is the abyss we all skip next to everyday. If you do get sick, your policy will have lifetime caps on it. Better plan to have just one serious illness or incident. Oh, and when you do lose your benefits, any medical care will be billed to you at astromical rates since you are not under the umbrella of group negoitated rates. I had someone tell me that he had heart surgery which cost about $30,00 paid by his insurance. If he had not had insurance, the same procedure would have been billed to him at $117,000. This is the Let's Really Kick Them While They're Down Plan. Remember, 1 out of 4 American bankruptcies are a direct result of overwhelming medical bills.

We can afford unlimitless war to bring democracy to the world, we can afford tax cuts for the wealthy,we can misplace 9 billion dollars in Iraq, but somehow we cannot provide a secure system of healthcare to the multitudes who pay for all of it.
