Let the Damn South Secede - They have a plan in book
Edited on Fri Feb-25-05 11:15 PM by RamboLiberal
One of their Dumbass Organizations has a book out - I say let the dumbasses go - they're a drain on the federal budget - and I'll even give them Dubya for their Pretzeldent!

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/

They've got an angle?

The promo for the League of the South's new Grey Book: Blueprint for an Independent South says the book explains "How an independent South would handle the Social Security debacle."

Everybody wants to get into the act.

ANNOUNCING
THE GREY BOOK
BLUEPRINT FOR SOUTHERN INDEPENDENCE

If there is one book you must read to understand today's Southern independence movement, it is The Grey Book.

Among other things, you will learn

1. Why Southern independence is not only desirable but likely

2. Why independence for the Southern States is the only realistic remedy for a descent into cultural barbarism, political tyranny, and economic bankruptcy

3. How a Southern nation, based on its Christian faith, would be radically different from the current American regime

4. How an independent South would handle the Social Security debacle

5. What sort of financial, monetary, and banking systems the South would adopt in order to ensure sound money and true economic prosperity

6. How a Southern armed services would look compared to the current imperial military

Democrats love Dixie because many Dems ARE southerners. All
patriots will work together so that justice will reign over our entire nation.

7. so?
What is your point?

It is not the South's fault that we nominated flawed candidates with some pretty general issues regarding electoral politics. And none of those races were squeakers. McGovern, Mondale, and Dukaksis had their asses handed to them. Kerry almost pulled it off with all the mistakes he and Cahill and Schrum made but that was because Bush sucks so bad.

12. Yeah - LBJ knew when he pushed the Civil Rights Bill
he was giving up the South for at least a generation. He was sure right.

As long as the damn electoral college is in play, I think Dem candidates from the North are doomed.

17. Electoral college keeps Dem Voters from many Red States
from even voting IMHO. Why waste the time when you know your Democratic vote means nothing?

21. oh we vote ... damned right we do ...
When Bush won here, there were SCADS of people who voted for Kerry. Just not quite as many as who voted for Bush or were diebolded for Bush.

16. You got a deal, but
can't we let Alabama and Mississippi go too? They are bringing our national IQ down. Maybe just the more conservative ones from those states. Ah hell, let's just send all the social conservatives to Texas, let them secede and the rest of us can have a field day with a booming economy, equal rights for all, programs that work, intelligent well thought out educational programs. Oh it would be grand. I'm dreaming big tonight. You made my head soar with happiness and hope with this post.

11. Uhm
you mean the League of the South people right? In that case, I second your post. They just opened a chapter up in Hamlet, NC close to where I live. Grimy bastards can kiss my ass too. And I know what comes out of there, it isn't pleasant.

2. I'm a New Englander, but I can't agree.
Whatever its imperfections, the south has given this country plenty to be proud of. Hell, its musical heritage alone warrants my wanting the south to remain part of the good ol' U.S. of A!

10. You are talking about the blues, jazz, & gospel, right?
The rest is just polka with a drawl. Oh, flame away. I love Johnny Cash and the bad boys but the new Nashville, well, it can secede.

22. Nashville is a shameless fraud ...
music I mean. Look at what hey do with their Grand Dames and Dukes ... they turn them out to pasture regardless of what the artist wants. That's why Mister Cash left those dolts and went to L.A. I think Ms Lynn is currently doing the same thing.

Fuck the nashville music mogouls. They too, can kiss my ass.

6. No way...I'm not going to secede nothing to these RW crazies
We have folks who are fighting in communities where they are shunned for doing so. I think we will eventually win back the south because of these folks. Abandon them? Not a chance.

All of your points ignore how many Dems the South has. Should we abandon all the African Americans who have staunchly supported Dems? Should we abandon all those Dem polititians who lost because they were Dems? Not a chance. I find it dismissive of their efforts.

We will win the South within the next few elections. If we abandon it, then we will continue to be the minority party luxuriating in what has beens.

8. Hey folks I'm not serious
but sometimes I wonder if it had been better if Lincoln had just let them go.

Too many of them are still fighting the damn "War of Northern Aggression". I think I'm in a Mike Malloy mood tonight!

Do you know just how right you are about the majority down here? You nailed it. I've been pointing that out for years, but so many people tell me I am paranoid. It's the absolute truth.

19. Hey, we can argue whether we should have fought the civil war
and whether we are better off with the US as we know it. I'm all for a historical argument. We are faced with the US we have. I love the differences in this country. I can be very liberal elitist but that's not my beliefs. I want a unified country...that includes Native Americans.

23. If they want to secede, let them try.
Once they realize they are the "beggar" states and we are the "donor" states, they might be a little less anxious to cut off the cash flow.

http://www.taxfoundation.org/taxingspending.html

Remember, the ones who want to secede are the ones who don't want to be UNITED.
