help me think of slogans!
I will be protesting outside the Supreme Court with Americans United for Separation of Church and State this Wednesday. They are hearing arguments concerning the constitutionality of posting the 10 commandments in various inappropriate places.

Help me think of some slogans for my sign!

10. Don' t spread intolerance & hate yourselves. The religious are
people under my tent! We love Jesus lovers - because we love those who live with love in their hearts.

Put that quote Kerry used in his Dem speech at the convention in: The one about hoping that you are 'on the side of god' not the other way around.

The religious are born that way - just like gays or tall people. There are advantages & disadvantages and you know little about a person when you know their religion. Don't alienate. Shower them all (your opposition) with flowers. If you see a row of riot police - do not touch them but place flowers at their feet. Bring the "golden rules" in translation from a variety of other religions.

13. Such a shining spirit of tolerance and understanding!

You have put a big smile on my face:D

It is very interesting that you say that religious people were born that way. I was going to say that it is not so, because I chose to convert to Christianity after being raised an atheist, then I realized that I am actually (anecdotal) evidence that what you say is true. (It isn't just atheists that believe in the Separation of Church and State, you know;-))

Also, Americans United is a respectable organization with over fifty years of history behind it. We aren't going to be provoking any riot police:-)

14. Show the wonderfull values of other religions. List all the Golden Rules
from websites: Look up Golden Rule on the Web and Put one for each religion on one sign. To teach the excluders a little something about how small and close the world was the 'ideas' came from whereever they came from.

15. Separate Church and State
Here is some more inspiration for you (another DUer wrote this):

Psalms, chapter 23

Bush is my shepherd; I dwell in want.
He maketh logs to be cut down in national forests.
He leadeth trucks into the still wilderness.
He restoreth my fears.
He leadeth me in the paths of international disgrace for his ego's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of pollution and war,
I will find no exit, for thou art in office.
Thy tax cuts for the rich and thy media control, they discomfort me.
Thou preparest an agenda of deception in the presence of thy religion.
Thou anointest my head with foreign oil.
My health insurance runneth out.
Surely megalomania and false patriotism shall follow me all the days of thy term,
And my jobless child shall dwell in my basement forever.
