You know, after watching Nightline last night about the level of lynchings
in this country up to and including 1968, I just can't get excited about spreading any of our culture to the rest of the world and that includes, so-called freedom and democracy. It was, after all, under "freedom" and "democracy" that we reached the nadir or our existence.

1. I think the rest of the world knows about
our country's history and its present. That's why they speak of the hypocrisy. Those pictures of the lynchings were horrible as was the reaction of the crowd. It's hard to understand how people could be so jubilant as people were being hung or burned to death. They lynched men, women, and children. There were even young children in those crowds watching the suffering victims and the mutilation of bodies.

2. And we wonder why "they" hate us?
I'm sure many Iraqis feel the same way.
