If Gannon/Guckert said last week he wasn't talking anymore to the media,
then why did he grant an interview to Campbell Brown this morning on the Today Show ?

He was still as defiant and clueless as ever. Denying he was a GOP plant, denying was/is a male escort, denying that Talon News isn't legitimate. Any tough questions Campbell threw at him, he shut down with the "I have been advised not to comment on that" line.

:puke:

Folks, the legs are still on this story. Thanks G/G for keeping it real- REAL and LIVE.

7. It went a little something like this
Campbell asked how he was able to get a pass for almost 2 years. He answered because he worked for Talon News. Then they cut to a shot of you only need a criminal background check to get press passes. Then backstory on what Talon News was, and who it was funded by. Then she asked was he a Republican plant. He said "Absolutely not". Then she asked about his background. Did he register "pornographic websites". He said he registered domain names- and Campbell interrupted asking again- "Pornographic websites". He then brought out the line- "I have been told not to comment on that". Then she asked did he advertise himself as an escort on these sites. " He answered again with the "I have been advised not to comment on that" line. Then there was some more story about Democrats were up in arms, saying that the admin was being lax on security by allowing fake reporters in the press corps. That the admin was manipulating the media. Matt Lauer then says something to the effect of: Campbell, thank you for a bizzare, yet interesting story.

p.s. This came on this am as I was waking up, so my memory might be a bit fuzzy. :hi:

He did not deny the escourt thing. He said he was advised not to answer that question. They did not even really discuss Talon News.

5. Because he is SUCH a LOSER
a total moron; used by this administration, and still doesn't believe that they won't turn on him.

6. Well, let's see
He talked to Editor & Publisher and CNN's Anderson Cooper after his self-imposed STFU. My guess is that he's really digging the attention and can't let it go.

12. I'm starting to wonder if
G/G isn't blackmailing the hell out of the administration, and beating them at their own game. Perhaps the mention of this "journal" is a veiled threat to anyone who is thinking about suiciding him. If so, more power to him.

However, it's equally plausible that he's doing everything he can think of to stay alive. It makes a lot of sense that he's seeking so much publicity. After all, a guy who shows no shame at being outed as a prostitute, who loves the attention he's getting because of it, who's bragging that he's still going to the WH press dinner for chrissakes, who announces plans to continue a "journalistic" career, to go on public speaking tours and to publish a book about his experiences, doesn't exactly sound like someone who's contemplating suicide. It sounds like a guy who's determined to ride this thing as far as it will take him.

I hate to sound like I admire him at all - he's morally reprehensible - but I think in a way that G/G's breaking new ground in how to deal with a political scandal. He's brazening this thing out on an unprecedented level, and I have to shake my head and laugh because I actually think that this strategy is working for him. I'm starting to believe that this guy could out-rove Rove! The neocons are probably secretly admiring G/G even as they try to find a way to silence him - it takes a pretty heavy set of stones to do what he's doing publicity-wise. He's made it so that they can't kill him now without looking highly suspicious...and they know it.

Hell, it wouldn't surprise me at this point if G/G winds up getting his own conservative talk show. His "yeah, so what?" strategy has all the earmarks of being straight out of the Paris Hilton career/publicity manual...look how she springboarded to fame with naught but an amateur porn video. And now she's a household name w/her own tv show. Stranger things have happened.
