Fox "News" celebrates Black History Month
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 05:41 PM by JohnnyRingo
Being the Republican party animals they are, the celebration is non-stop and updated regularly as new items honoring compassionate African American conservatives whirl off the spin machine.

First up on "Fox Fan Central" see the video of GWB's Black History Month speech to invited guests in the safety and convenience of the White House. (He came out against slavery and for "ownership".)

Then marvel at Fox archivists who found this quote by Malcom X that could easily be transposed into a state speech promoting the war in Iraq:
“You can’t separate peace from freedom because no one can be at peace unless he has his freedom.”

Next a very racially sensitive clip from Bill O'Reilly demanding equal treatment for African Americans.....IN COURT!
With this lead in:

Racial Injustice; Are black Crime Victims Ignored?
In Atlanta, an African-American baby was brutally murdered by its mother. Why did the state let the accused go scot-free? Bill investigates!

In "FYI" There are:
"Great Moments" in history (Nothing important in the last 10 years except Condi and Colin).
"Famous Faces". (More Condi and Colin with athletes and musicians thrown in.)

Then Fox goes with the "Fair and Balanced Forum" featuring: "Black Issues Today", a discussion of affirmative action with Ward Connelly plugging the GOP as scions of equality. (His debate opponent apparently only had a b&w driver's license photo available.)

Still under the "fair and balanced" section are two short Q&As with black women concerning the '08 election.
The first one: "A Hillary Win?" Find out why Star Parker says Clinton will be a thorn in the GOP’s side.
The second: "Winning Their Vote" Linda Softli talks about which way black voters may swing. (Go on,Take a guess....... she's the founder and president of the Black Republican Women International.)

The celebration wraps up with examples of African Americans that have broken the shackles and chains to go on to become capitalist successes in the business world and the record store.
While not titled as "The Role Model Section For Minorities, I didn't see any pics of Chris Rock or Janet Jackson.

An interesting note to this "celebration" is how hard it is to find which room the party is in with no sign of it on the main page: http://www.foxnews.com/
It's easily accessed though, if you know to look to the drop down links for "Foxfan"(?). Then click on "exclusives" (Oh the irony) and there it is.

Or just check it out on this direct link: http://www.foxnews.com/foxfan/front/0,3778,3,00.html

On edit: While there DU the poll on the right (Where else):
Do you think Hollywood is out of touch with mainstream America?

3. What I'd give
to be able to see Malcolm X debate Bill O'Reilly on the Bush administration's policies towards the Islamic world. Better yet, to see Malcolm debate Bush & Cheney.

4. Malcolm X is on Cinemax right now.
This is one of my husband's favorite films. We're taping it and watching it later tonight.

In high school, I only saw the name Malcolm X once in my history text book, and that was to say he was assassinated.

6. These people are sick
They don't care about the rights of African Americans. :grr: Mr. Dean is right about what he said about them and their conventions and ours. :eyes: And after what they did in 2000 and 2004!!! Now that pisses me off even more! :grr: Can I go bang my head into the wall now? Can someone wake me up from this nightmare?
