4. Like what for instance? A terrorist attack? The blue states
Edited on Sun Feb-20-05 08:22 PM by rzemanfl
seceeding and becoming part of Canada? An invasion by the Mexican Army rather than individual Mexicans? The rapture?

"Something" has happened to our country, the effing Supreme Court appointed a moron who let the terrorists attack us, who cares for no one but the rich and who stole the 2004 election by manipulating our revulsion at what happened in 2000, etc., etc.

5. Depends on what
I live in the town I grew up in. There is a certain amount of community here. I could hunker down and stay local.

Unless of course the rich and evil were still in power and strength. In that case, they would probably foreclose and squeeze every bit of security I have. Then I would just live out of my car.

6. Something happened to our country 40 years ago
On that day, a president was gunned down. We haven't recovered since.

10. No, we never recovered
but, we must look at the other deaths too, the death of Martin Luther King, Bobby Kennedy and two popes. You know what, they all spoke the same message and I still am angry from their deaths.

21. I wasn't even alive and I'm totally pissed at the Kennedy assassination.
Particularly since I visited the Grassy Knoll last year. All you need to do is be there for a second and you realize the official story is not only complete bullshit but physically impossible. I walked away from there sick to my stomach. The other killings were just as sad and shady but JFK was the "statement" assassination by the thugs that are no doubt still in power today.

I'm only 22 and I definietly get pissed off at the Kennedy assissination and very emotional. Anybody who believes the official story is naive and foolish. No way that could be. :grr: I doubt we'll ever know the truth about that.

9. Well, if you are in the bullseye of a terrorist attack, the point
is moot. Otherwise, the rest of us will survive with what we have at hand or not if it isn't enough. Maybe those pro-war patriots need a little taste of what the Iraqis are suffering through to open their eyes.

13. Like I said if I am in the bullseye, there is no problem.
If I survive, I would have to marshall whatever assets I have that are usable and try to formulate a plan, but if you don't know what will survive a terrorist attack, like your home, or your water supply or food, there is no point in making any plans. I will say that I am planning on moving some money out of the country just in case.

by Ken Lay and friends. Of course -- they've been soundly punished for that, and everything is OK now.

16. I've thought alot about this
If as they say within twenty years the climate really changes or if as some economists say that we may be in for a depression that will beat the one from the twenties.
I am prepared as well as can be and just in case am planning ahead. I was in the girl scouts.

18. Seriously...
We've got enough food stored to last about 6 weeks, water for about 3 weeks. I'm thinking of picking up a book on urban survival from Amazon just in case. I have family that lives in the country out of town, but I can't always count on reaching them. Our weakest links are water, dog food, and I desparately need more rifle ammunition. I have a Freeplay multi-band radio receiver and light, candles, and such as well. In light of this administration's war mongering with nuclear armed states, preparation would be a prudent measure.

23. I guess it depends upon the individual...
at this point, I have a SO, a daughter, and two chihuahuas to look after, so I consider it my responsibility as the man of the house to insure that contingency plans are there just in case. My contingency plans include basics: food, water, basic first aid, and the means to protect ourselves effectively against whatever. Urban survival is such a different game than in a rural area, but when you consider such areas as Beirut in the 1980's or any city in Europe during WW2, it is possible and people can endure.

Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 07:07 PM by rzemanfl
bad enough, dogs ARE food. Try to see a movie from 1962, "Panic in Year Zero" a/k/a "The End of the World." Ray Milland stared and directed. It will give you lots of survivalist ideas. I lived through the Cold War, eventually thinking about all this end of the world stuff gets a person down and you shut it off.

What is really strange about the 21st century, (I prefer to call it the uh-ohs)is that we are in what looks like a hundred year war over a resource that will be gone in a hundred years. Seems like we could make better use of our time.
