Wolcott -- Cooper's interview of Gannon was "pure comedy gold"
Jeff Gannon, undergoing Jack Webb interrogation by Anderson Cooper on CNN, was pure comedy gold. Gannon came across as--how to put this euphemistically?--not-quite-bright as he stalled before answering each question like an unprepared student trying to bluff his way through an exam. (His bald head may resemble a lightbulb, but there's faint illumination within.) Even more hilarious was what a transparently bad dissembler he is. Jeff Gannon is like a buffer version of Jon Lovitz's "Liar," cloaking himself in implausible deniability to buy time until the referee rings the bell.

2. How many others think he stalled before answering each question
because he was waiting for the correct response in his ear piece?

7. Yep
His eyes kept shifting, like he was listening to something else and then would turn his attention back to the interviewer. "Oh wait a second, the master's calling me." Just once I'd love to see one of these guys get caught doing it.

9. It did seem he was being fed answers...the pauses before answering...
reminded me of listening to a "translator" before one can answer....

10. I don't think so
first, if he was not in the studio, he might well have been listening to the question before answering - there can often be a few-second delay.

Second, if anybody had actually bothered to set up a system to feed him answers, they would've taken a few minutes and actually come up with some good answers. The sheer lameness of Gannon's responses indicate nobody was feeding him answers.

4. Following orders is the job description so his intelligence doesn't
have much to do with the job, unlike the rest of us.

Right Wing jobs-projects = Right Wing SOCIALISM for their fascist buddies.

The influence of such people can be great with today's technologies; it doesn't take that much smarts to impress a few young people in whatever chat room or on some message board anywhere or through community groups and churches. That is the thing I regret about Gannon and the whole Republican Noise Machine the most; great power in small dishonest minds.

his hilarious deconstruction of the RW big-media suckups. It's worth it for his treatise on Peggy Noonan alone, which you'd better not read in most people's favorite reading room, if you catch my drift.

Let's just put it this way, I nearly fell off from laughing so hard.
