Bobby Eberle Exploited 9/11

(As per my rights due to the Fair Use Doctrine, I'm going to show more than I normally show from a thread at the Free Republic Website...since most of the Freepers that commented on this disturbing - to say the least (fucking low down, shameful and despicable to say the most) - bit of promotion come off looking pretty well (plus this is how Freepers feel about it: Fair Use Thread)...I hope the only one that will be pissed off is Dr. Bobby Eberle, plagiarist and hirer of plagiarists, a guy who did all he could to go for the gold after one of the worst days in America's history)

One month after September 11, 2001, Bobby Eberle posted an article at his "activist" Website entitled "GOPUSA requests viewer input on eagle photo for possible poster." So far, I haven't been able to turn up a working cache of the posted article but at a quarter after noon on that very same day a Freeper by the name of callisto posted something about it at the Free Republic Website (one month after 9/11) in the News/Current Events section then bumped it to the top (bttp) five times in the next five minutes (my comments appear in paranthesis):

(Obviously callisto knew enough about the site to learn something about keeping a thread alive. Interestingly, callisto had just joined the Free Republic Website a few days earlier on October 5, 2001 (flag profile). But in the hundreds of posts that callisto has written over the last three-and-a-half years, Bobby's Websites were never mentioned again, at least I couldn't find any.)

(It didn't take long for a few Freepers to notice that Bobby's eagle had hair.)


With all due respect, wrong eagle. The Bald Eagle is the official bird (Eagle) of the United States.

I can't believe the folks at GOPUSA posted this photo. Don't they know what a bald eagle looks like?

I have to agree with you: we all beat up the RATS for doing a fundraiser in the name of "honoring" firefighters up in New Hampshire last week. It's a really nice poster, but seems a bit exploitative to me as well.
P.S. - What the heck is that red logo above 'GOPUSA' supposing to represent?? I can't even come up with a guess.

Greetings to All!

First, I'd like to thank you for all the great comments on the GOPUSA picture. I'm not sure who originally posted it to FreeRepublic, but I appreciate it. Second, I'd like to clear a few things up. This picture is NOT intended for any type of fundraiser. We simply made it as a way of expressing our feelings about the September 11 attacks. As someone who witnessed the jet airliner crashing into the Pentagon, I was very moved by the event, so I wanted to create something that expressed my feelings. GOPUSA made the image available on the web site for anyone to download.

Also, I'm well aware that it is not a bald eagle. However, when I was laying out the GOPUSA web site, I wanted to use eagles, and the best picture I found was of a golden eagle. It may not be the symbol of the US, but it is a symbol of GOPUSA.

Finally, the GOPUSA logo is something I created. Because of my love for flying and my background as an aerospace engineer, I wanted to do something "eagle-like" but abstract. So, what I came up with is what you see. It is our "right wing" symbol. It's an abstract eagle's wing.

...may have already done some debunk work on his claim to have witnessed the crash. Every once in a while I gloss over their stuff and one of the claims they have is that noone saw the plane and in fact there was no wreckage of a plane recovered.

I'm not saying I believe that, or that I don't. How would I know? I wasn't there. I was lost in the subway system of Boston trying to get to a conference at the Boston World Trade Center and wondering why everyone was looking at me funny when I asked which stop the "World Trade Center" was at.

Anyway, I thought I'd point that out the material about his whereabouts on 9/11 may already have been researched by that crowd, and it would be interesting to know from them whether his comments about being a witness were "well timed" in relation to their research on the matter.

Gannon is at the heart of the connection between GOPUSA and the admin and the admin's violation of the law and our national security.

He is the weak link - he has committed crimes (prostitution), he owes $20k in back taxes and probably more in taxes on the revenues he made as a prostitute, he is vulnerable and if he knows too much about the admin, he is running scared, he doesn't want to die or disappear.

Gannon is the heart of it all - the weak link most vulnerable to telling all he knows.

I think prostitution should be legal. I don't care if he was or wasn't a prostitute. Escorts don't always have sex...and even if they did there's no way to prove it except with video or some kind of police entrapment operation.

and even if you pay for sex...or do it...it's still private...the bedroom should be in the bedroom period.

Yes..i think it's okay to out someone who is anti-gay or done things to hurt gays (or out a drug user who is hard on drug offenders...or etc.)but personally i don't want to do that...

A standard troll/disruptor tactic is the shared account. Many people share one login name to get the post count (and thus credibility) high over a short period of time.

a fellow named Jeremy Reynalds who wrote/made up a lot of their reports about terrorism. Reynalds and a handful of other folks were the main source of terrorist 'noise' last year.

As far as we can tell, GOPUSA is an above board fund-raising operation, the foundation of which is Bruce Eberle's (no familial relationship, btw) former online group millionsofamericans.com. Bruce still makes his living off of direct mail, and may have discontinued the email services that Eberle Communications Group, Inc. used to offer.

Our focus right now is to document the plagiarism of as many Talon News contributors as possible. There is also the obvious question of whether or not these volunteers actually received money for copying and pasting other's work.

The whole FR thread is actually quite revealing. Many freepers openly criticized what this guy was doing with the image of the towers. And Ron thinks he was whoring his site out.

I say "revealing" because over the amount of time since then, GOPUSA/Talon has become influential among a good number of freepers. (Think of an FR version of truthout, of course without all the honesty and integrity.)
