1. I think the plea for her life of Giulian Sgrena (the Italian Reporter held
captive in Iraq holds in it more of the truth than bush's propaganda's teeth will ever confess, have the decency to state, or ever admit to about how WONDERFUL the Iraq elections have been...

here is a link to her plea as translated by luciana bohne

http://www.onlinejournal.com/Media/021805Bohne/021805bohne.html

here are four paragraphs snipped from luciana bohne's translation of Sgrena's plea:

"Withdraw the troops. Every foreigner here is seen as an enemy.

"I am in Iraq since the end of January to bear witness to the situation of the people, who are dying every day, thousands of people are imprisoned, children, old people; women are raped, and people die everywhere, on the street; they have nothing to eat, no electricity, no water.

"Please put an end to the occupation. I'm asking the Italian government. I'm asking the Italian people to put pressure on the government. Pierre , help me, please. Show the photographs of the children hit by cluster bombs; I ask my family to help me; I ask everyone, everyone who has been in the struggles with me—against war, against occupation—I beg you , help me.

"The people must not continue to suffer so much; withdraw from Iraq; no one must come to Iraq because all foreigners, all Italians are considered enemies here; please do something for me."

2. This poor woman's pleas for help just echo every poor innocent's
cries, everyone caught up in this immoral, disgusting, barbaric war. And the liars the con men who started it want to expand it. They cannot win. And it's people like this woman, and all the victims that she talks about who pay the price, as well as our military.

As an aside, I understand that the song "We Gotta Get Outta This Place" has become very popular with the troops.

3. don't know the song... but by the title of it ... wouldn't it be wonderful
if soldiers would en mass refuse orders and start singing that song?

That would truly be one of those ROSES FOR THE SOLDIERS moments that have never materialized in Iraq.
