What was wrong with peace and prosperity ??
People were working. The country was at peace. Our nation was respected around the world. Employers were begging for employees. The economy was in the best shape in a long time. The budget was balanced.

But the right-wingers were unhappy. They went after the Democratic President on every trumped-up charge they could think of and then some.
They finally impeached him on a sex charge, with the assistance and collusion of a lazy and incompetent press. They said it was about "lying".

But now we have sex and lies seeping out of the windows of the White House and nothing is said. The economy is on the edge of collapse unless something is done about the monstrous deficits. We are already at war and our leaders are ready to send our young men and women into another battlezone before they can clean up the present mess in which we are embroiled. We are disrespected around the world. What was wrong with peace and prosperity?

Our long national nightmare of peace and prosperity is finally over
The Onion
January 18, 2001

WASHINGTON, DC Mere days from assuming the presidency and closing the
door on eight years of Bill Clinton, president-elect George W. Bush
assured the nation in a televised address Tuesday that "our long
national nightmare of peace and prosperity is finally over."

Above: President-elect Bush vows that "together, we can
put the triumphs of the recent past behind us."

"My fellow Americans," Bush said, "at long last, we have reached the
end of the dark period in American history that will come to be known
as the Clinton Era, eight long years characterized by unprecedented
economic expansion, a sharp decrease in crime, and sustained peace
overseas. The time has come to put all of that behind us."

Bush swore to do "everything in power" to undo the damage
wrought by Clinton's two terms in office, including selling off the
national parks to developers, going into massive debt to develop
expensive and impractical weapons technologies, and passing sweeping
budget cuts that drive the mentally ill out of hospitals and onto the
street.

2. Peace and prosperity don't fuel the death industry
Our biggest export is death. How ya gonna sell that with all this useless peace and prosperity going on?

Peace is over rated..at least you can't complain of boredom these past few years...

planes flying into buildings that explode??? That was better than fucking TITANIC! (except no pasty breast scenes)

(sarcasm)

5. The Radical Right WANTS to destroy this nation
so that they can "re-create" it in their moronic utopian vision.
Let 'em try. Bring 'em on. ANYONE involved in destroying this nation,
foreign or domestic, will burn-literally.

7. Republicians
Believe that America should be a fuedal society. Once they crash it, they can make it a theocracy as well. They hate freedom and liberty.
