I was just reading the Nation
And John Nichols pointed out that our party is 213 years old. Why on earth do the republicans think we are ever going to disappear?

1. They may not think it's going to disappear, but
when the press is doing tricks for this misAdministration in a more whorish fashion than a puppy for a piece of baloney, the press will do anything to please its "master" . . .

3. If they'd gotten Roemer as chair
and that particular twit had abandoned the reproductive rights plank in the party platform, I think the party did have a chance of disappearing.

Half the membership would have left overnight.

5. We've had long dry spells in that 213 years...

...from 1860 to 1914 there was exactly ONE Democratic President. And the Republicans controlled the Presidency, House and Senate for 12 years from 1920-1932.(and managed to fuck things up pretty badly)
