US operatives do the dirty deed of knocking off Chavez (hated by Bush types in the US) and Syria gets the blame.

I think its called killing two birds with one stone, and the Bush fascists have their reason to bring "freedom" to Venezuela (conveniently forgetting that Chavez was popularly elected twice) and Syria.
