One shred of evidence
Edited on Thu Feb-17-05 07:54 AM by kiki
I remember watching 9/11 on TV as it happened. I remember waiting to find out who was responsible.

By the end of the same day, I remember being told "Osama probably did it."

Within a week or so, it was "Osama almost definitely did it."

Within a month, it was "Osama definitely did it."

I remember waiting throughout that period, and for the three years up until today, to be told about ONE SHRED OF EVIDENCE to PROVE that Osama actually did it.

Perhaps I wasn't paying attention, but I'm still waiting. This is an honest question: besides pristine passports miraculously found atop the wreckage, and dubious, grainy video confessions impeccably timed to coincide with W's election campaign, has there been any evidence?

1. If he didn't do it...
then it was made to look just like his work. I do believe we have a fairly well authenticated tape of him talking about it after the fact, though.

Edited on Thu Feb-17-05 08:04 AM by sam sarrha

3. He talked about it but..
he never claimed that he planned it. In fact, he has said he did not.

Colon was supposed to proved a report about this but...never did.

32. The video is questionable....
Edited on Sat Feb-19-05 09:36 AM by mordarlar

The last pic is the "Bin Laden" on the admission video.

http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/osamatape.html

Combine this with his interviews where he says he did not do it. He says he is against our government and NOT the innocent people of America. He says we need to look to the "government within the government" of the US for answers.

But we just invaded Afghanistan, instead. And lost Osama.

So, confessions and denials, false or otherwise.

No actual EVIDENCE though. I'm not a lawyer, but it's not exactly what you'd call 'iron-clad', eh? :)

And benburch, this isn't an attack on you, but 'made to look exactly like his work'? Why, has he flown passenger jets into skyscrapers before?

10. No...
But he did financially back the prior WTC effort, and has used suicide bombers in the past to great effect against both buildings and ships.

12. I guess...
Edited on Thu Feb-17-05 08:51 AM by kiki
...but the WTC is arguably an obvious target for any number of militant groups opposed to US economic domination.

And technically, these weren't suicide bombers. There were no bombs. The point about 9/11, as we were constantly told and re-told at the time, is that nothing like it had ever happened before. Therefore, if we were in a courtroom, arguments based on modus operandi could easily be said to be irrelevant.

14. No, but the USS Cole was a suicide mission...
and also the Khobar Towers and the Embassy bombing.

Honestly, I thought of Osama about 20 minutes after this happened.

22. He's not exactly...
Edited on Thu Feb-17-05 10:06 AM by kiki
...the only anti-US militant to use suicide tactics.

I'm not looking for evidence that says 'he could conceivably have done it', or 'it's the sort of thing he'd do', or 'he's very likely to have done it', or even 'he's the person most likely to have done it'. As I understand it, 'hard evidence' is evidence that says 'he DEFINITELY, PROVABLY did it'. And so far we seem to be drawing a blank on that.

23. I agree with that.
But since we know he did the Khobar job and the Cole job for sure, we need to arrest him anyway, and he is the most likely suspect.

24. Hmmm...
...the 'most likely suspect' for 9/11? Well, cover me in tinfoil if you like, but if you're looking for the Big Boss rather than the triggerman, I'd personally go for the guy saying 'uh-oh' at the top of the page...

27. While the second jet hit the towers, I thought
there goes the United States into the realm of third world countries. This is an excuse to have armed troops on the street and to question everyone as to what they do and where they go. I voiced the same at that time.

11. There is no evidence. Moreso, in that alleged Dec 2001 video tape
he no more claimed he did it than he gave any REASON for doing it.

A pratfall I typically set for gop nutters insisting OBL 'admitted' to perpetrating 911, is to ask what REASON he then gave for doing it.

They stumble stutter and invoke clinton's penis.

13. And aside from no evidence, there was no MOTIVE, although BUSH and his
PNAC have motive for decades in staging this horror upon our nation.

All evidence leads to the PNAC in hiring the 20 thugs who perped 911.

15. The motive for Osama would be plain.
First, he wants the USA out of Saudi Arabia. He wants us to remove our bases from his Homeland, and to stop propping up the criminal Saudi government.

Second, he wants us to stop giving aid to Israel until they grant a Palestinian State and return to their pre-1967 borders.

He has made that very clear, and even wrote this in a LTTE to, I believe, the New York Times.

21. Yes, I've read that.
There's no denying that, in his mind, he has his motives.

Of course, they don't include billions of dollars in military cashola, an unprecedented grip on power through the use of a climate of fear, so-called "justification" for pissing on international law, etc etc...

31.  I read the nonsense letter bemoaning the arabs association with USA
factions. There is nothing there that says he wants to destroy the USA... did YOU read it? Word for word and dissect each time he says "you" and "we"?

These are the rantings of a lunatic; there is no declaration of war... how silly.

And then we found out later thanks to a serial number on a tiny piece of debris that ID the truck.

We found it to be a special forces military type.

26. No proof yet...
the Silverspoon Sociopath put a $50 Million reward on Usama-Dead or Alive. My guess is that the Bush Junta prefer him dead. When I wear my tin foil hat I think that Usama is a deep cover CIA asset working as an agent provacatuer, spuring the extremists to commit violence to aid the Bush Junta in their Empire Expansion.

Osama bin Laden is a bit like abortion--a wedge.

So long as Osama remains at large and abortion remains legal, the Republicans have a way to energize their base. "That Democrat politician will let Osama blow up Mount Rushmore" / "That Democrat politician will force your daughter to abort your grandchild."

But if they catch the SOB, away goes the wedge--and they're especially fucked if they catch him and someone else pulls a terror attack.

30. Actually, MSNBC was saying that Osama was suspect #1...
...before the first tower fell (I have it on videotape).

Their line was: "There's only one terrorist group who could've pulled off such a well-orchestrated attack on this scale - the one led by Osama bin Laden..."
