Bush's Sex Scandal
-snip-

"You see, for all the carnage in President Bush's budget, one program is being showered with additional cash - almost three times as much as it got in 2001. It's "abstinence only" sex education, and the best research suggests that it will cost far more lives than the Clinton administration's much more notorious sex scandal."

3. Shameful.
What an unabashed play for his fundie followers. This program is actually proven to NOT work! This really pisses me off that he feels free to throw our money away on stupid, worthless programs while taking money from programs that are actually helping the poor and disadvantaged. What a shithead.

9. yea, pretty much.
couple of rumors indicate that bush took a few girlfriends for "elective surgery", if you know what i mean. idk where those rumors started or if they're true, but it sure sounds like a bush play.

10. this is strategic. Abstinence only generates unplanned pregnancies.
This provides cheap labor and soldiers.

It's not a coincidence.

11. It also generates more ignorance, thus more Kool Aid drinkers.
Have those babies young, see less of the world, get less education, turn to church for comfort, have your mind and emotions manipulated. This does not apply to all young folks who have unexpected pregnancies, but it sure is a tough obstacle to overcome.

Don't forget it also provides extra babies for adoption.

I'm all for abstinence because sexual activity is such a distraction, but sexual activity is an undeniable fact of life, and abstinence just does not work because it goes completely against biochemical forces. You end up with teen-agers who are totally unprepared for the hormonal surges, and teen-agers are notorious for not appreciating the consequences of their actions.

Ignorance is not bliss. It leads to a life of economic deprivation, and george bush is being cruel beyond belief to promote this type of idiotic program.
