The Discovery Channel doing a show about the 100 "Greatest Americans." The link above allows you to nominate your top 5 Americans. I'm posting this link, so we can do our patriotic duty of ensuring the list isn't "George W. Bush, Condoleeza Rice, Ronald Reagan, etc."

Please vote and share your 5 nominations.

When you think of the Greatest American, what single person - living or dead - comes to mind as its best example? Someone who seized opportunities, saw things in a different way, or stood out in a crowd? Someone who demonstrated determination, vision, and hard work? This person could be an inventor, explorer, entertainer, or athlete. He or she may have changed the way we think, work, or live. They may have challenged us, delighted us, or outraged us, and ultimately helped us define what it means to be an American. Who do YOU identify as THE GREATEST AMERICAN?
