8. Fanatical and entrenched religious movements have been

the downfall of more than one great civilization. The priesthood gloms onto the power strucutures and suffocate the population. There is no room for change. My ex used to say that the last people to trust is the priesthood--their job is to talk fast to convert and hold onto conversion.
