Upset a Republican this morning, and enjoyed it
SO and I were at our local diner, talking about a client of mine who I admire. He grew up in a white slum, worked hard, did well at Temple University, got an MBA, and is now a Mktg Director at a major company. He's proud of where he came from, and happy about where he is now in life.

At the cash register, I was continuing the conversation "...it's like Clinton - I'm way more impressed with Clinton because everything he got, he got himself with hard work and brains, unlike Bush, who had everything handed to him." I turned around to see this plump, overly-made-up woman with a look of horror on her face. She was so visibly upset, and while SO was in the bathroom, she was telling her husband the vile thing she had just heard.

Man, the Clintons STILL have the power to unhinge the Republican faithful.

Another reason to love the Big Dog.

1. Man, when will these people let go?
I mean, agree or disagree about Bill, whatever; but get over it, 'pubs!! Y'all didn't do too damn badly in the 90's, people.

2. My mother used to upset outhouses on halloween too.
Reactions of others to overheard private conversations can be funny.

3. Any time you can piss off a repuke, it's a GREAT day.
Good job! They will NEVER get over the Big Dog. That's why he's great ammo if you're ever in the mood to piss someone off. All you have to do is mention his name and they start foaming at the mouth. :7 What a pleasure it is to see that. :loveya:

9. I'm in a Blue area of a Blue state
No worries there. We used to be a Republican stronghold, but no longer.

Some jackass Republican Committeeman I had to work the polls with informed me that it's all the "sellouts" who have moved out from the city who have converted out county from Red to Blue. Well then, God bless the "sellouts".

7. Since Jan. 2001, a lot of Dems have had fun deconstructing Bill.
Too conservative for some, too liberal for others. Not me. I love and admire him. I think he is what Presidents should be: smart, engaged, caring, and forthright; not to mention willing to admit when he's made a mistake. He's what good Presidents are, and have been. FDR had not one but two mistresses. Still one of the finest Presidents ever.

I've got your back, Bill. Whenever you need me, I'm there.

10. My parents and I watched him on C-Span one afternoon
He was talking to a class at University of Arkansas (or maybe Arkansas State) who were studying his Presidency.

The guy stood for about 2 hours with no notes, and a diet Coke in his hand, answering their questions with brutal honesty. Discussed his triumphs AND his mistakes. Could name Somalian warlords, Bosnian generals, statistics, budget numbers, all off the top of his head. Absolutely freaking amazing - his brilliance was stunning, and he was talking TO the students, not at them or over their heads.

Sometimes I look at the current bumbling idiot resident of the White House, and I just want to cry. We swapped brilliant for stupid (but Christian!) and look where it's got us - in the morass that's Iraq, in record debt, and dumping the Great Society.

11. I saw him speak at the University of Iowa
After he was out of office. I was also impressed by his broad range of knowledge on every topic that was brought up. No notes, no teleprompter, and no earpiece. He made me proud to be a Democrat.
I don't know how any republican could be proud to say they voted for that ignorant bozo we have now.

15. No worries - it's a "blue" diner in a "blue" town
My little neighborhood is pretty "Blue", but we still let Republicans spend their money here.

14. We plan to visit Clinton's library this summer. Since we're driving we
will be making many stops in redstate territory. I will proudly state to anyone who ask that "We're going to Arkansas to visit the Clinton library". I am prepared to review for them all the positives I know about the Clinton presidency. And that is plenty.

If they have some shit to say to me after that, bring it on.
